Comments Thread For: Kessler’s Booming Baby Step: Review, Ratings Update

Former Super Middleweight titlist Mikkel Kessler has faced adversity before. He’s suffered defeat. However, one thing no one is accustomed to seeing is the Dane on the floor.

Getting dropped is part of boxing and how one reacts tells a lot about them. Kessler got off the floor in the first round Saturday against Allan Green and was clearly hurt. Before the bell sounded to end the opening stanza, it was Kessler doing the hurting with a big left hook.

Definitely, Johnson couldn't finish Green with monsterous shots in a division where he wasn't fit for. Kessler put him out flat with a left hook.

Guess he must have been working on the left while he had his right hand finger broken.

Just watched an interview with Sauerland and he claims that Kessler could even fight at 160 for the right fight.

Oh no he didn't! I don't think that's an option.

That's what Kalle said. Infact he said it was Kessler who suggested fighting @ 160 prior to the Green fight.

Ehhh okay, then they chose to do the excact opposite of what he wanted.... Something smells fishy around here.

No....he said he's willing to fight @ 175, 168 and even 160 for the right fight. Obviously Mikkel thinks he can make 160 otherwise why say it? I doubt it'll happen but it's interesting to see them thinking about it.

He's definitely a natural SMW, always walking around 168. I think it's too much of a drop to go 8+ pounds down, but well I'm not Kessler. They must really feel that SMW is empty atm.
