It's not one or the other. It's a business relationship and neither side should be expected not to get paid. Marquez's side has let it be known they're choosing, for the moment, between Gesta and Morales. One is worth a LOT more potential cash. It's could be Marquez is jockeying for the best payday possible on the latter. That would make sense and he's in position to do that.

Marquez is a spoiled brat. He has this notion that money grows on trees for defensive fighters. He won't make compromises. He'd rather fight in foreign lands for a measly sum than make adjustments.

This is bull****. Marquez is way more known than Rios, and Gesta is just about the same as Abril and Rios-Abril was on PPV. I can name countless other ****** PPV's Arum has done with unknowns in the card. Arum lying his ass off cause he's actually looking out for his own pocket.

I think Marquez wants Gesta because he legitimately feels it gives him practice against a Pacquiao-like opponent.

Of course he has to realize that this fight won't draw flies on PPV. So he should adjust his purse demands accordingly. There's no question that Morales would bring more money to the table.
