Mundine turns down a fight with Trout, but accepts a fight for McKart?
I haven't really heard anything from McKart since the mid to late 90's.
If he really wanted Mayweather, he should've tried to wax Trout first.Comment

Took up boxing with no amateur career at 25 and won 2 official world titles in different weight classes. Hes a good fighter but hes not great yet.. why do so many people buy his ppvs? He is a big attraction.. Mundine is ppv king in australia..a reason why hes made almost $100 million in the past 10 yrs aloneComment

People have been paying to see Mundine get knocked out for years, once Garth 'GOAT' Wood did that everyone's forgotten who he is.
He'll be lucky to beat a 41 year old McKart.Comment

What's sad about this is that just last night boxing classics on main event had a Green vs Mundine replay of when they fought at 168. It was most physically and mentally prepared Mundine has ever been for a fight. He had Roy Jones Sr in his corner who had him sparring heavyweights and pushed him to the limit. He made Green look like a rank amatuer and looked very good doing so. His reflexes and speed were razor sharp as was his defense and jab. This Mundine could have been a real competitive player at 168. He had also done very well against Kessler only a few fights before and if he let his hands go more it would have been interesting, because in the rounds he did he won them (3 or 4 rds if i remember). He was beating Ottke in Germany as an inexperienced pro in only his 11th pro fight and caught an unlucky shot flush on the temple.
This was the right time to break into the US market, perhaps move and base himself in the US or chase bigger fights more aggressively, and really become a professional who trained almost full time. Instead he wasted a bunch of time and let his prime years go past him. For a guy who played rugby at the pro level (and very successfully) he had a lot of natural talent when he crossed over to boxing full time. Mundine had a lot going for him. He had natural speed everywhere, he could fight inside if needed, he doesn't smoke or drink and had a nice niche carved out in the domestic Aussie market which would have garnered decent power at the negotiation table in the US, similar to how Hatton's UK money did for him.
All of this and he never tried hard enough tom rematch Kessler or get bigger and better fights at 160 and 168.Comment
