Many of us like boxing, love boxing or eat sleep boxing. I consider Boxing like a fruit tree, in-which it takes many years of love and care before a fruit is developed.
I find it hard to find someone I can personally feel loves boxing at the same level I do, Its the only sport I would ever watch, perhaps only the Superbowl would draw me to watch the final minute only if its close in points. Every time the term boxing comes up it has been littered with Mayweather/Pacquiao and in the 90's all we heard about was Tyson.
Us, the diehard fans are the ones that grow the tree, help develop strong roots, just so one day we can sit and enjoy the fruit we have worked so hard for, we the die hard fan influence the match makers indirectly. But isnt it discouraging when the non-fans influence the matchmakers and enjoy the fruit without having to true help grow the tree?
Its sad but true, there are countless fraudulent fruit us die hard fans never desired, perhaps a list would help:
Pacquiao vs Mosley:Clottey and Mayweather vs Mosley:Marquez
One thing is for use, use die hard fans have gotten the sweetest of fruit, fights the non fans will forever miss , one fruit was Rodriguez vs Wolak I, Juanma Lopez vs Mtagwa, Casamayor vs Katsidis, Bernard Dunne vs Ricardo Cordoba and Antonio DeMarco vs Jorge Linares to name a few
Thank you boxing for hiding your true gems, perhaps the possibility of another Corrales vs Castillo will draw in more die hard fans.
