The Pylyp Orlyk Constitution is regarded as the first in the world to establish the separation of government powers into the legislative, executive and judicial branches. The document consists of a preamble and sixteen articles. According to the constitution, legislative power was vested in the General Council (parliament), which was to hold three annual sessions. The Hetman and the General Staff Council constituted the executive branch, while legal matters fell under the jurisdiction of the General Court. Thus the Ukrainian constitution of 1710 preceded those of the United States, France and Poland, and attested to the ********ic thinking of the Ukrainian Cossack elite.

      Riveting tale, chap.

But explain to me on this boxing website why the Ukraine can't produce a boxer worth a damn in real life boxing without an American trainer holding their hand, teaching them how NOT to get KO'd by 40 year old golfers, nightclub doormen and...........Paulie Malinaggi..............

      Thanks in advance.

They can, Vitali is the proof.

But don't get me wrong, I have nothing but respect for Steward, one of the best trainers boxing ever had, and American too.

Hunter looks like a good fighter to me from watching the qualifiers plus he is one of Wlad's main sparring partners so you can not write him off winning a medal the guy is young but experienced with quick hands. Breazale on the other hand looked terrible on the youtube videos I've seen of him although I didn’t catch his qualifying effort.

On a side note Hunter didn’t get chance to compete at the world championship as he got thrown out before the competition for smoking weed.

Hunter is good but I don't think he has enough talent to medal in the Olympics. That's not to say the US shouldn't have an impressive showing though. Gusha, Collazo, Herring and Browne look really solid. Of course they are in the background with the two studs Warren and Ramirez. If Warren doesn't win gold this time around it will be shocking to say the least.

Taylor, Mayweather Jr, Whitaker, De La Hoya, Patterson, Spinks, Hill, Clay, Tarver, Frazier, Foreman, Mercer, Bowe, Leonard, Torres, Jones Jr. . . . . . .

With the exception of Andre Ward have we really descended into criticising the US Olympic team for not producing that kind of talent recently?

This nationalistic 'my country is better than yours' BS is obscuring the question that should be of real concern to boxing fans. . . Where is the next crop of talent coming from?

Seeing the US Olympic teams inability to produce a strong squad of boxers as being good for Europe is pretty short sighted because It's bad for boxing.

With the Cuban's being prohibited from turning professional the American's have set the standard in producing the kind of talent that then goes on to contribute in the professional ranks.

Some of the names above are as big as any in the history of the sport. That they don't seem to be able to produce that calibre of boxer through the amateur ranks at this point isn't something to rejoice about.

boo boo is far from a star but he's got a ton of talent and i wouldnt be shocked at all if he's fighting for a world title in two years.
he needs a lot of work, but all of the basic tools are there. i have not really seen his chin tested either.

                    oh and he's HUGE
he'll be a super middleweight by the time he retires. i wouldnt be surprised to see him fighting for a middleweight title because he grows out of 154

Andrade looks pretty good so far. He is pretty talented. I know people forget because he was kicked off the team but Gary Russel looks like a superstar. Remember it took Andre Ward basically a full 6 years to become a big player in the sport. It's a tad bit too early to judge either Andrade or Russel but both look to be major players in the future.
