Mike Tyson is the PPV king.

When you consider the cable/satelite population was half of what exists today, and adjust for the rate of inflation, his numbers are monstrous.

why are morons always trying to compare dhl ppv with mays. if dhl had the same advertising media of today back then like may has it now it would be no contests. dhl ppv would be insane. instead morons should focus on pac ppv vs may ppv which may crushes

So not counting Dempsey, Louis, and Ali.
In 1 more fight mayweather will pass him ..in 2 less fights when he isnt a knockout puncher and Tyson his peak was more popular than mayweather but that doesn't dispute the fact that Mayweathers numbers are about to be bigger in a worse economy and the age of the Internet......

Also mayweather hasn't even fought overseas in his career......Tyson was promoted by an iconic promoter who had already staged huge fights.....mayweather has become the ppv king with no promoter....

We is a misleading statement because not everyone had black boxes....billions of people have the Internet....did a billion people have black boxes? Just cause a few folks in the hood had the hook ups doesn't mean billions of people around the world had them. Also...the economy in the 90s was better than it is now....Floyd has cashed in with higher ppv prices in a worse economy and in a recession when he is a small fighter who people claim doesn't have exciting fights.

Honest question. DO you honestly think Floyd can do this much PPV if he fought in the same era

as Tyson Lewis HOlyfield Prime Oscar?

                Honestly?

                There is a difference between

                a 10 horse race

                and a 2 horse race.

the 2 horse race gets a bigger cut of the overall pie

                money team blah

                  another question
                  does Floyd's PPV numbers directly

                  correlates with your ******ity status?

Like the higher FLoyd's PPV numbers go

the higher chance you got of losing your ******ity to someone under 250 pounds?

Why the **** do you care so much

is Floyd's PPV chart magically connected to your penis ?

Tyson was a hw promoted by a legend promoter and he was knocking guys out.....mayweather has had 3 knockouts in 9 ppv fights. His first fight on ppv was in 2005.....he's been on ppv in less years in one of the worst economy's our country has known.....I would say he is the ppv king

I'll give Floyd some of the credit. 24-7, if it really was his brainchild, is the overwhelming reason for his PPV explosion. His antics are additionally what makes the series compelling for the fairweather contingent that has been showing up in record numbers.

That said, Mayweather isn't anywhere near the attraction he's been turned into. He doesn't perform on that level as an entertainer. His fights and his fighting style are no where near worth $50 million dollars or whatever it is he's taking in. The reality of it is Floyd Mayweather is as much a fraud as the other superstars and celebrities of the current era. He's just as wack. Just as hollow.
