Floyd is 2 fights away from being All Time PPV King & has been in less PPVs than DLH!

He is known more globally? Where is your proof? That sounds like a subjective opinion my friend......also who cares if he is the most searched boxer in America.....he isn't the highest paid athlete in then world and mayweather mayweathers net worth is more so those searches don't mean much..

Hey Einstein I grew up watching Tyson, I've seen all of his fights, yes he was exciting for a 3 year span, then he was knocked out, he went to jail got out and was a side show.....don't talk to me about not knowing boxing. Floyd will go down as the greater fighter with a more impressive career who was on top of the sport for nearly 2 decades when he retires....You obviously didn't know what was going on back then. You'd have to be 40+ years old to have watched Tyson coming up. He was famous because of the way he fought and knocked guys out. The Tyson that you saw had nothing to do with his fame. He was living off the name he made earlier in his career. That's how great he was, he will be remembered more in those 4 years then Floyd will for his entire career. Floyd is a great fighter, but he is not nearly as exciting as Tyson was and that can't be argued. Ma, **** this, I'm not wasting any more time on an idiot like you. You don't know shiiit about boxing.
I love how you aren't discussing the actual numbers between the 2 and going off of how you feel about the fighters....I never said Floyd was more exciting but the fact that he isn't and is about to shatter Tyson's record speaks volumes about mayweather....Tyson for all his excitement doesn't hold the ppv buys record in a single ppv.....gtfohLast edited by Atreyu Khalil; 07-08-2012, 12:27 PM.Comment

Why people need to be butt hurt about everything? Boxing seems to have a biggest pu$$ie a$$ fans in any sport recently. Whats the deal with that? A current boxer toping records can only be a good thing for boxing so I don't understand the out cry

More ifs???You've just made my point.
Even as a sideshow Tyson was thee most popular attraction ever.
If Mayweather lost, good luck selling his next PPV for $79.99. If Mayweather lost like RJJ has been losing, even if it were just 3 times, Floyd's drawing power would be done.
Tyson was never a draw because of dominance. People paid to see Tyson do ANYTHING in the ring. Many NEVER gave up on Tyson and he was an even bigger asshole than Floyd. People always thought that Tyson could pull out the big one at any moment even after proving he was a shell of his former self.
Neither Mayweather or DLH can say the same.
If Tyson made his comeback TODAY and got into elite shape, people would be more interested in what he's doing that nearly anyone else in boxing today.
I'm sure of it. He just had that "thing" that made people want to tune in for whatever reason.Comment

I already provided the numbers. Pacquiao had more buys than Mayweather even before the Bradley fight, now he's even further ahead of Floyd with around 11M PPV buys.
And your De La Hoya numbers are wrong too. This whole thread is based on the fallacy that De La Hoya has only 12.6M PPV buys, when infact he has 14.1M PPV buys.
Floyd needs another 4.5M PPV buys to match him, it will take another 3-4 fights (without the Pac fight) for him to break it. Pacquiao needs 3M more PPV buys and he's two years younger than Floyd and fights twice a year (Floyd fights once a year). This thread should be about both these guys having the potential to break the record, not just Floyd.Last edited by Fighting Pride; 07-08-2012, 08:40 PM.Comment
