Last Money thread: Was impressed he threw combos when we thought he couldnt nemore

just watched highlight of the fight and when Mayweather let his hands go he still showed good speed, accuracy, and fluidity...in recent fights ater the Hatton all he would throw was counter rights, lead rights, lead lefts, or the occasional one two....I honestly thought he was losing his ability to pull the trigger, but he proved me wrong.Cotto show an improved defense and solid guard and Mayweather who often throws for accuracy, made the proper adjustments when he saw his money punches wouldnt get threw as clean(straight right, jabs, and lead hooks)....I was impressed and didnt think he could throw combos as he did anymore.

      right jab or right lead?

Did he do it out of the southpaw or orthodox stance? I know he switched a few times during the fight.

The last thing he actually consistently was in the 8th round of the Hatton fight when Hatton was on his way out, This is the first time i have actually seen Mayweather engage a fighter who is fresh stamina-wise from the get go for a while now since he moved to 147.

Mayweather also threw a lot of pitty patt punches to throw Cotto off his Rhythm. I noticed when Cotto started to corner Mayweather that Mayweather wuld just throw weak punches to just get Cotto off his rhythm and it worked. Mayweather did what he had to do to win like ALWAYS.

That straight right and right hooks around Cotto's gloves was pretty amazing.

yea I noticed that too, Mayweather is smart...He was weary of that left hook coming between the punches he sat down on...noticed he didnt throw many left hook leads like he usually does...dont hook with a hooker or pay the price

The way he switched his straight right to a sweeping right was one of those instant adjustments he makes so well, it was the perfect punch.

Then he landed the uppercut a few times and as the rounds went by you could see him setting up that straight right/left uppercut combo...he delivered it beautifully 3 times in the final round and almost put Miguel on the floor. I wasn't surprised though, Mayweather has every skill and every punch in the book.
