Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions held a hastily assembled telephone conference all Tuesday afternoon to make a statement about the news that Lamont Peterson had tested positive for a banned substance ahead of his May 19 rematch with Amir Khan.

Schaefer said he received a phone call Monday from Keith Kizer, executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, letting him know about a letter the commission had received over the weekend from the VADA (Voluntary Anti Doping Agency) drug-testing agency.

So both samples were positive...then a couple of weeks later when those results came back and they retested - he was clean...Looks like he was trying to get a boost head start going into training camp.

Apparently it was somethintog he took before the first fight?! So Amir went into his opponents backyard, with a hometown referee, 2 American Judges, a random guy handling scorecards and a drugged up opponent and still only lost a split.

Whatever comes of this, the guys got balls. If this was the other way around the storm around this would be crazy. The haters would be calling for his head.
