vs Mayweather, came off beating the crap out of Margarito

Cotto
vs Pacquiao, barely beating Clottey in his previous fight and no trainer.
vs Margarito, Cotto at his best
vs Mayweather, Cotto beat Margarito, Mayorga, and Foreman barely losing one round per fight.

Ortiz
vs Mayweather, he beat Berto in a fight of the year.


If you see, Mayweather fought all of them after a great perfomance.

Well said. I always say, more important than who is when. And to his credit, Floyd has done a nice job of that as well since his return.

A lot of posters complained that floyd and miguel waited too long to fight. By fighting in 2012 instead of years ago, the fight was worth 3 to 4 times what Bob estimated. Not only did each fighter make significantly more money, the fight was likely better than what would have happened 2005-2007.

In theory russian is correct. But real life isn't theory. Historically, financially, and even from a legacy standpoint it looks like fighting now instead of then was better for both fighters.

Hopefully he does have that hit list and fight these guys cos he still is one of the greatest. Yet, he still has so much to prove and fighting these guys will get him back on top. I think he still has what it takes to beat these guys, i mean i think a fighter never really forgets how to fight, especially if they've been doing it for most of their life. He'll prolly be rusty, but won't be long till he becomes that Floyd everybody wants to see.

If this is true than I will have much more respect for Mayweather, but I will wait till it happens. In the most likely of scenarios he will fight Pacquiao if he's able to get by JMM, but that doesn't help the aging Mosley. In the meanwhile it'd be great to see a Cotto rematch! I was drunk watchin it in Rosarito Mexico and thought Cotto slightly won, but it still demands a rematch.

I can't disagree more. No pro fighter fights for legacy, they fight for money. And both men made SIGNIFICANTLY more than they would have then. Waiting was the right call here.
