Im a Khan fan and think that its a possibilty sometime in 2013. But no way on this earth can khan beat mayweather at the moment. Firstly, Khan isnt seasoned enough for Mayweather and he will come unstuck. Floyd is the master at laying traps, even when Cotto had that good round 8 floyd was smiling. He was never troubled. Cotto landed punches but nothing telling. Cotto was marked up after the first round. Khan doesnt have the control to beat Floyd. You have to stick to a particular gameplan to beat Floyd and Amir cant do that. Hence the Peterson loss. Why anybody is talking about Floyd and Khan when hes got to beat Peterson and then theres Alexander, Malignaggi, Bradley, Ortiz, Berto. Khan in my opinion doesnt deserve Floyd until he beats at least some of the names mentioned.

Mayweather would stop Khan. I dont pick him to stop many people but he would khan.

All of the same people saying Khan could beat mayweather now would be *****ing about the matchup the day after the fight and we would have 100 threads on the Peterson and Prescott losses and how Khan was a cherry pick. Khan was on track to make a mayweather fight and that got pushed back because of the Peterson loss and because that loss makes a Mayweather matchup less credible. Mayweather fights guys coming off big wins not losses like somebody else.

This. The McCloskey fight was telling to me. He figured out khans angles by the fourth round but wasn't skilled to make khan pay.

He wasn't embarrassed he got hit with a punch Cotto rarely used...but he did was a fighter should do..cut the distance and made it an inside fight...the jab 100% gave him problems here and there but wasn't often...Amir has a great jab but Amir is not smart enough to stick with it, his youth and inexperience makes him go for the kill
None of those guys have anything resembling a great jab. Especially Mosley's lame backhand flick **** he does.

I think he looked embarrassed to get hit with it, its probably the most he's been hit with a single punch where he wasn't really able to stop it. I agree with you on Khan's inexperience and lack of ring IQ. He would most likely get mind ****d by Floyd in the later rounds.

If Floyd fights on the outside and at mid range he lose heavily to Khan, who will beat him to the punch and pepper him with that freight train jab all night.

Floyd would have to change his style and pressure Khan and fight on the inside and throw a lot of punches to beat Khan.

Hopefully Khan would learn to deal with that style against Peterson.

Get a grip the kid has terrible footwork, no inside game, no head movement. His jab isn't particularly good at all & it dies to death after 3 rounds.

Its an awful fight for A mere con, a guy who was sparked by Prescott in seconds, smashed to pieces by Lamont Peterson, the same hypejob who couldn't lay a damn glove on Paul ****in' McCloskey!

Not to mention he is still at 140 and not even the best in that division!

Khan needs to work on a few things before he can take on Floyd. Khan needs to know how to defend better, for one.

Also, Khan is still fighting at 140lbs .... he needs to fight at 147 and show us what he can do with good quality opponents before we can really judge.
