lol, how was Hopkins the passive one when he threw AND landed more?

    You're kidding yourself.

Taylor let his hands go on maybe 3 or 4 single instances.

Otherwise he stood there aprehensive to throw at Hopkins because he was getting counterd sharply.

It was a joke that Lampley kept insinuating that Taylor was landing the jab that didn't work in the 1st fight when in reality it was landing on average of 4 or 5 per round instread of the 3 / round in the 1st fight.

The difference between this fight and the last is that the punch stats were close to favoring Hopkins almost the whole way. It didn't just start at the end.

Taylor was credited with a LOT of shots that glanced or were blocked.

Hopkins defense was better this time than the last.

I can't believe anyone would assert Taylor landed the better punches.

Hopkins' were crisp and on target.
By who lampley/compubox, Whom had no effect on the fight?

In contradiction to what Lampley was yelling about, and to what I was watching.

Hi, I'm new to the boards, but I had to log on tonight while I was watching the fight and arguing with some of my friends as to who was ahead. If Taylor was landing the harder, crisper punches, then why was he the one with the nearly closed eye at the end of the fight (unless he hit B-Hop with all hard body shots, which didn't happen.)

By Lampley, making people who think they know boxing say, "oh, clearly taylor is winning the fight." Continuing to brainwash both the casual fan and the fan that thinks they know boxing but really don't.

              EXACTLY.

I hate HBO, they are very misleading to the casual fan.

They both stunned each other a couple times. I KNEW what hopkins would do this fight...I knew he would throw more punches for a couple round then go into his passive self and throw 25 to 30 punches a round. When you say he landed more...6 punches...it's not like its overwhelming.

                      Headbutts in close.

The hardest couple of shots in the fight might have belonged to Hopkins, but he landed them with much less consistency than Taylor did, plus he never stopped or wobbled Taylor. Taylor even stopped him dead in his tracks with a jab.
