  • Pacfan/pbf hater:

I had the same score card 117-111. Though the score card and cotto's good fight. I'm not giving him a round PBF clearly outlanded him and did as much. Rounds 1-3 are probably in question which he did something but cotto just didn't land enough vs pbf.

Cotto definitely showed vulnerability still to the left and worse if he was actually southpaw. Cotto fell behind due to Pbf adjustment with his right coming right behind cotto's "defense". That just gave him rounds. I believe I gave cotto rounds 5-6-8 and 9 or 10. Forget. Otherwise, pbf closed out nicely and kept his sacred 0.

Cotto let go in the championship rounds though. MORE STAMINA. Otherwise, cotto will never win.

I still have an equal hand when it comes to pbf vs PAC.

Both didn't show much the last fight and pbf vs Ortiz doesn't give us anything to go on.

PAC vs PBF will never happen though

    • I had it 9-3: 117-111, Mayweather, but those scores are not indicative of how much work Cotto put it on fight night. He gave a great showing but the score stand as they are.

      • when you are a supertsar the close rounds will go your way,always....i thought the fight was closer,i think that if cotto had more energy and a little faster he could have beaten floyd, thats why i think ortiz had a shot until mayweathe hit him because he's younger and fresher, stonger just more energy to go 12 rounds and floyd did get hit more and not as fast as he used to be,i think after this fight and the way mayweather got hit more than usual he'll be careful not to pick a young fast fighter,he's still good but he can get hit and i think it was just that cotto got tired and after all he is a fighter who has gotten hit a lot in his last fights, that counts a lot too

^^^^ This, I have told these idots... Cotto won 6, 7, and 8.... Thats it.. He didnt win 1-5, and he didnt win 9-12....

Cotto simply won x3 rounds and bust floyd nose thats it. Nothing to write home about....

And while he did a good job, better than expected anyway, I will never forgive him for lying talking about he had to go piss, and when merchant went back there he refused the interview again....

You could see how his mom was acting... She knew cotto had lost as well.....

          • No boxer is invincible. Cotto without a doubt gave Floyd his toughest fight to date and Floyd definitely felt Cotto's shots. Plain and simple, Floyd is a one of a kind fighter.

The scorecards though like many have said don't really tell the story of the fight. I think Cotto got a bit gassed in the 9th and 10th and Floyd did hurt Cotto late in the fight, but Cotto's as tough as they come. Floyd showed he can fight, but it wasn't to "please the fans", he got brought into a fight. Nobody's going to voluntarily get hit to please anyone. I give Floyd respect though admitting Cotto was his toughest fight, I don't think that's something he can deny by any means.

My score for the fight: 116-112 Floyd.

Thats alot of 'IF's ' MY MAN.... Floyd gets hit, just not as much as the average boxer.... He still won x9 rounds Saturday night...

I dont know why people didnt see this.. In Floyds sparring session, he was fighting Omar Henry off the ropes too..... This was Floyds gameplan from the beginning... He simply put some rounds in the bank first to ensure victory and thats pure intelligence...

Against the so called clone Omar Henry, did you guys notice that he didnt dance, he stayed on the ropes countering???

This fight was simply prepping for a bigger fight and you guys should know who that is... It aint pacquiao but Martinez... But with martinez he will move more....

But in reality, that was not what went down.
You can lose a fight 117-111 / 118-110 without getting schooled. Cotto had his moments and most notably in the 8th round but that was it. I gave him 3 rounds, nothing more.

Mayweather won. Clearly. Get over it.

                • *Loses 10 rounds out of 12*

We proved Mayweather is not invinceable! Woo! We won two rounds, hooray!

The judge even gave him one pitty round, and he still complains. DLH lost 7-5, 8-4. Cotto lost 10-2.

All in all, I was not impressed. 10-2 plus the 12th round TKO would have been good. Like Pac did to him.

                  • I think people are giving Cotto a little more credit than deserved really. It was Floyd who really engaged the fight and actually brawled with Cotto a bit, but like Floyd said, he could of easily just have boxed Cotto's ears off and made it a easy boring fight, but he wanted to bring excitement so credit to Floyd for proving he can stand toe to toe, I have rewatched the fight about 4 times now and it's different when you go back and watch fights, for instance when i was watching the fight live, i thought floyd was in a bit of trouble at times rds6-8, but when I rewatched the fight Floyd was never really in any serious trouble and in full control for most of the fight...

                    • Diaz is a sore loser just like Cotto. 4 rounds would have been overly generous to Cotto, he quite clearly lost so just admit it and go from there and stop the crying.

Cotto's team is taking away from their good performance by crying about the result too much. Mayweather gave cotto every advantage, the weight he wanted, the gloves he wanted and he fought cotto's fight, so they need to stop with this victim mentality.
