I had the fight 116-112 for Floyd. 8 rounds to 4. Cotto had a big 8th round but went on to lose 3 of the last 4.Comment

I watched the fight and there's no way in my opinion Cotto won any of the rounds from 1 to 5.Comment

So you think he put himself at a disadvantage on purpose and possibly lose. It sure seemed like Floyd wanted that 11th and 12th round the way he fought. No he couldn't stay on the outside and just box. Cotto was pushing him a bit and had Floyd corned a lot in that fight. If you watch again you can see that 9 out of 10 times it was Floyd trying to bounce out of the corner, to the middle of the ring to box/ toe to toe
Completely disagree with you thinking Floyd could just do whatever he wanted in the ring and that is exactly what Cottos team is pointing out that people think Mayweather is invincible and does whatever he wants to do in there.Comment

I think Miguel Cotto is getting too much credit for not getting destroyed and Mayweather is not getting enough credit for dominating him despite choosing to fight his fight. Cotto gave a good performance but his effectiveness has been greatly exaggerated. It's basically the same thing with the Zab Judah and Mayweather fight. That fight wasn't competitive either, but just because the guy had 2 or 3 moments of effectiveness you see people giving biased and delusional opinions in a desperate attempt to make it look like something that it simply wasn't. Cotto got schooled. His face after the fight said it all. He might have been the one coming forward but Floyd landed 90% of the clean punches.Comment

Also, the fights are at different weights.
I'm sure Margarito was PHYSICALLY stronger and more durable at 150+ than he was at 147.
Similarly, Miguel Cotto is a far more durable fighter at 154 than he was at WW and below.
Please notice that Miguel has not really been hurt at 154, until the 12th round vs May.Comment

I dont doubt it. He did his homework, but at the same time, there is a reason he only threw a couple lead rights.
He knows what he is doing....it wasnt there.
Floyd isnt dumb, he knows what he is doing, a hell of alot better than you. The right hook was there....because the lead right wasnt.
If the lead right was there....floyd would have used it more. Guarandamnte it.Comment

It's not really triangle theory,
Sure it doesnt work if you are talking about people winning fights as in Floyd Beat Marquez easily so that means he will beat Pacquiao easily.
Unless of course Margarito developed a new iron chin for the Pacquiao fight, it's the excat same thing.Comment

I tell you one thing. Floyd ain't beating Sergio Martinez at 154 fighting like that AND he would seriously have to stay on the defensive/counter punching stance against Pacquiao. In my opinion, Floyd gave Cotto some openings by fighting the fight on the inside exchanging but Cotto also missed a lot of punches that the crowd were "ooing and aahing" off of. Floyd had them rolling off of his shoulder and the side of the body. Cotto fought well and strong. Wish he had Diaz early in his career. Haven't saw Floyd in a fight like that since Castillo and some of Demarcus Corley (Floyd nose was bleeding in that one also). Cotto brought a combination of Castillo/Corley.Comment
