  • Cotto in great condition is a tough fight for anyone, all respect goes to him for doing his part in making Mayweather look less then perfect and being one of the few fighter to apply the right kind of pressure on Mayweather. I do think the scores were wider then i may have had them but i honestly haven't scored the fight, but still Mayweather won more rounds according to the judges and this was far from a robbery, in fact it was a great fight.

Rounds 6,7,8.... Like I said if you wish to be generous, you can give him an extra round that Floyd won that was probably close.... and thats if it's cottos birthday, or if you are in the spirit of f-cking giving....

And they werent blow out rounds....I watched it again last night but he didnt win 9-12, and he didnt win 1-5...

I mean just rewatch the fight, it over at boxings0cialist right now.

It kind of seems that it is the message the wide margin leaves that has Cotto fans in an uproar. I admit I did not think Cotto would perform nearly as well as he did. Make not mistake he performed excellent! This doe snot mean Cotto won. Mayweather clearly won. What is unfortunate is a score of 117-111 sounds like a blowout but in reality it is a product of the 10 point must system. Most of the rounds were not blowouts. Not blowouts like Mayweather usually creates. What Cotto did was make us think he was in the fight every single round. That is far more impressive to me than saying he won 4 or 5 rounds. Cotto was in this fight every round until the 12th. Great fight.

Personally I would love to see Pac and Cotto fight again but at 151 or better yet 154. Let's legitimize that Jr. Middleweight title Pac claimed earlier. For Mayweather I can't say I see many options although the Martinez fight would be a huge risk. You would be talking about a very, very strong guy.

        Great night for boxing!

          • The Racket Squad: Cotto's Calm Storm

I have watched this fistic ordeal 5 times, not including the initial, live combat.

Each time it comes out the same.

            8 frames to 4: Mayweather.

Cotto had multiple opportunities to force the combat that won him the rounds he did.

            But his storm quieted.
His fear of running out of steam defeated him along with Floyd's vast skill set.

I now see with utter conviction why Floyd avoids Manny like the plague.
The Pac storm would be a relentless shower of engagement and counters, a 'Money' nightmare.

I do not see it man. Styles make fights and bradley would be a sitting duck against may.

              • Man it seems like whether its coming from the haters or the opposing team no one wants to give floyd any credit. the man went up in weight and fought a bigger and stronger opponent toe to toe. yeah he took some hits but he adapted and overcame his opponent. isn't that what champions do. and who cares if the scores should have been closer, cotto would have still loss, but what does it matter. Its like cotto is saying "he beat me but not by much." it doesnt matter. a loss is a loss. whether its by 1 points or 10. just give the man his credit and stop trying to always downplay his victories. its getting ridicolous.

Where was this relentless pac storm in his last two fights?

It's easy to unleash a "relentless shower of engagement" against punching bags like Cheato and Clottey...but as Marquez and Mosely proved, its a lot tougher to do that against a target that moves and counters.

                  • theres no way in hell mayweather will fight manny, im 100% manny would knock mayweather out, mayweathers style doesnt work against lefties, he doesnt take punches well, he doesnt hit hard enough, and hes far too inactive, manny would steamroll jr, its a complete 180 from what thought before but, its too clear way clear by now jr doesnt know how to fight left hand strong dudes.its over for fraud jr manny is going down as the better fighter.

                    • mayweather got beat up by coto of the 2 the guy that was beat up was Mayweather, jr looked pretty for the judges, but his punches didnt do shiaat to cotto, he didnt even land very clean until the 12th round,as usual cotto faded but he landed the harder cleaner more damaging blows, Cotto totally exposed Jr, just like Castillo did and to a lesser degree delahoya. They were never going to give cotto a decision because of the stake.Manny would steamroll the coward and its totally clear why jr has been doing the ducking totally clear he knows hed lose!by ko...
