He hit better to the face of Mayweather than the body.
Can somebody explain what fight did compubox and HBO comentators saw?

I Had Floyd winning 116-112 cuz Miguel lost the last 3 rounds, by doing nothing, but after 8 rounds that was a very even fight. Most rounds where close and very competitive, the only round Miguel looked out of it was the 12th. People Saying Floyd dominated dont know shiiit on how to score or what they where watching. Floyd did man up, fought his heart out and won a very competitive well deserve descision.
In theory, a boxer can lose every single round of a fight and still be very competitive. It's possible that every round can be close, but with the same fighter winning all the rounds. That's why some people get crazy when a fight seems to be scored "too wide." In Mayweather-Cotto, a score of 117-111 seems on-point to me. 116-112 is reasonable, in my opinion.
I haven't seen too many people call Floyd's performance "dominant," and I wouldn't agree with them if they did. Miguel did a great job; he just lost to the better boxer.
(By the way -- I don't know if you caught it -- but me and my peeps got a real laugh when Diaz yelled between rounds 8 and 9, "Vamos cojones!" Funny shit. Maaad Cuban.)

Yes but you are missing my point. I said after 8 rounds, one could argue that the fight was 6-2 or 5-3 which means that if Cotto had continued the same momentun he had going for him in rounds 6-8, he might have had a better chance at winning this or making it a very close fight on the cards. I had Floyd winning 9-3 on the cards but I'm trying to point out that through 2/3 of the fight, the fight was actually close. I had Floyd winning the final 4 rounds which help make the decision a wide UD but the fight was there for Cotto to take IMO. Floyd just outworked him in the championship rounds. Thats all I'm saying.Comment

Why even take compubox seriously. It would be cool if they would provide punch stats after the fight that are 95-100 percent accurate.Comment

It was abit cringe worthy at times watching the fight on Box Nation. There was times when Cotto was landing some decent shots and Col Bob Sheridan would laugh and say 'this guy cannot land anything on Mayweather' or would be rambling on and not even mention a good shot that had clearly landed. The UK BoxNation team in the studio were critical of fight commentators and rightly so I thought.
Don't get me wrong, Mayweather was great and clearly won the fight but the BoxNation commentators didn't give Cotto much credit for making it a competitive fight I felt.Comment

I gave Cotto 3 rounds and there was one round where he did enough to made it an even round. But to say that at any point during the fight that Cotto was up in the scorecards is really a desperate way of reaching big time.Comment

I watched the fight three times and scored the last two. I saw it much closer than the majority but I still think Mayweather took a 115-113 win. To me, that's about as close as it could get.Comment
