Great fight by both fighters. I'm happy for them both. The 10-2 car was bogus, (I had it 8-4) but that doesn't detract from an exciting fight. Both guys came to fight and win. The fight party was about a 50/50 split with the Floyd fans getting nervous at those ripping body shots in the 4th on, but Mayweather closed the show strong to land the cleaner blows.

Cotto still clearly belongs in the p4p discussion with all things being equal, only a handful of guys are better than Cotto.

As this relates to May/Pac. I think Mayweather will land at a higher connect percentage and really control him. Nothing in this fight changes my mind that Mayweather will destroy Pacquiao. Pacquiao I don't think is strong enough to just muscle Floyd around and position him like Cotto was able to.

All in all, a great night for boxing sans the Canelo fight. Both guys could use a nice rest and come back strong to close out 2012

Pac isn't bigger, can't cut the ring, and can't muscle him. Hey I hope that fight happens. Floyd looked sharp, won the fight by a wide UD.

People get the most ****** after Floyd fights, it's sad.
lol, cotto did his best work countering with the left, body shots in the center when floyd decided to stand and circling in the center of the ring when floyd decided to stand, he missed about 96% of his shots on the ropes

you beat floyd by throwing when he throws

Bottom line, styles make fights, and Cotto fight more comfortably at a slower pace which he was able to against Floyd.
Styles makes fights.. You agree with that... So that means you dont believe in the analogy of Floyd dominate JMM, and Pac controversial win over JMM, means Floyd beats Pac..

            What's worse? 2 pounds or 3-4 years?
Pac is a lot older than when he got stopped , enough off your BS you got no clue how much weight matters , Pac has the CWs for a reason and ducked this Cotto for reason WEIGHT , you got no idea how much difference it makes if your not training to make weight !

Floyd is brilliant in all areas except power and he hits hard enough to stop fighters over whelming him , Manny has a punchers chance but I doubt he land one single clean bomb on Floyd and I bet Floyd can take it , he will turn Pac inside out with pure boxing skill , Floyd is just a master genius in that ring .

Cotto fought a great fight but Mayweather was just a step ahead of him. I tought Cotto won four rounds while one was a toss up. Cong**** to Floyd , he won a great a great fight but he owns Cotto a rematch.

Yep. I think Pac is gonna lose against Bradley but Uncle Bob will save him again.

I was watching a rd by rd and although they gave Mayweather 2-3 "either-way" rds they had Mayweather winning only 115-113.

He scored most of his points to the body when Floyd was one the ropes.....he had one round where he did good circling and that was the 6th. That was it.

All Cotto did was land the jab every now and then, and work the body a bit with Floyd on the ropes.

Floyd won a wide comfortable UD.
