You would think Roach would have taught him how to adjust over the span of 7 years at 3 different weight classes when fighting JMM...

But on the subject... Floyd needs to fight Pacquiao... to be considered a great fighter... all the great fighters have lost, but what made them great, they fought other great fighters of their time... they didnt make excuses not to fight... instead they made fights happen... Ali, Frasier, Foreman, Liston, Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Hagler, even Morales, Barrera, Pacqiao, they all fought each other in their prime even if it wasnt a sure win... Floyd hand picks fighters that are a sure win... he's not to sure of Pacquiao, therefore he makes excuses and builds obstacles in the negotiating table...
Seems like the only fighters Floyd hasn't fought are Top Rank fighters. Whether people are bias or not towards Roy Jones Jr doesn't matter because he does have a point about Manny not being able to convincingly beat Marquez and Floyd shut him out. I say both of them guys need to fight each other because their both considered the best in the sport but for some to say Floyd needs Manny is ridiculous because at the end of the day. Pac never beat Floyd to become P4P#1.

People can say what they want to about Roy Jones but the fact is Roy Jones beat more than his fair share of quality fighters during his career. As far as Mayweather and Pacquaio go, it would be nice to see each of these fighters face one another. many keep saying that Mayweather is scared but I can't buy into that theory because Mayweather is business first.

Mayweather has all the tools and skill in the world to defeat Pacquaio and he knows it. Boxing fans are fickle because if my memory serves me corrsct, after Pacquaio's last fight with Marquez, some of the same people on here wer commenting that Mayweather would beat Pacquaio. Pacquaio's weakness in fighting counter punchers has been exposed by Marquez on 3 seperate occasions.

Mayweather is an excellent counter puncher and he's an accurate puncher. Both fighter's would bring out the best in each other because their styles are so different. Both fighters are good at what they do and each has cemented their names and some of the best to wear a pair of gloves. Its obvious they don't need each other because Mayweather is making a whopping 32 million dollar payday and Pacquaio will probably make at least 20 million in his upcoming fight.

On the other hand JMM dont need Pac, he has proved what he can do against Pac, even if losing 3 times. Floyd has yet to prove he can do what JMM did. JMM gets all the credit, floyd gets none.
Floyd dont get credit for what JMM did with Pac, it dont work like that.
          very valid points.....

can't see why jmm has to be dragged into the matter between pac vs floyd...as if putting another precondition to making the pac vs floyd happen...that pac needs to put jmm to the waste bin...

people will avidly watch the pac vs floyd fight like crazy if this fight will happen next after floyd got out of jail....

Sorry I just can't agree Roy! I think you've been KO'd too many times. They both need each other!!! I think Pac's been more then fair. Money wasn't a problem at first, it was the drug testing. Now that the drug testing is agreed upon, now there's a problem with the money. Floyd in my eyes is ducking and dodging trying to act tough with 50 cent, but in reality he's a punk, a scared punk!

Why?? When you can cherrypick whoever you want & add a weight stipulation just to make sure.

We all know this fight is long overdue and that both sides are to blame. Yet, since Floyd is his "own boss", I believe that if he really wanted the fight, then it would have happened.

Cotto is Manny's leftovers- Floyd cannot deny that.
Cotto is Margs leftovers - Pac cant deny that.

Disagree. Manny isnt good enough to bring Floyds B game out. Floyd can beat him with his C game

No i wouldnt deny that. So lets look at Floyds resume since he came back. JMM is Pacs leftovers. SSM is Cottos and countless others leftovers. Ortiz is maidanas.

So when all is said and done. FLoyd aint done much to worht shout about people have been saying it all along if youd listen.

If Floyd dont need Pac, who does he need? He dont need anyone youcould claim, but fans NEED him to fight Pac to show how good he is supposed to be - they arent convinced by him yet! He said he came out of retirment for Pac didnt he?
