even though dawson himself said the fight can be at 168, i'd prefer to see it above that just so no one has any built in excuses if dawson loses. i hope this does get made though, it'd be a great fight to have.

I think if the fight ever gets to serious talk they will eventually settle on a catch weight. Ward was talking about possibly moving up to 175 for the "right fight" after he beat Froch. I can see him eventually agreeing to a catch weight.

Very much doubt that career lightheavyweight Chad Dawson can get to 168 and be effective. BS fight at that weight, Ward should go to 175 and try and claim a second weight class. That would have more credibility.

According to your logic, its fine for a fighter to move up one weight class but its not good to move down one weight class. That makes no sense at all. Chad called out Andre and said he could make 168 which is reasonable considering he's only one weight class heigher. Chad has fought more fights below 170 than he has above 170, he can make the weight and still be 100%.


Ward has just won a tournament in which he competed agaisnt the top contenders and Champions in his weight class and was victorious in impressive fashion but to you he's a cherrypicker, sounds very senisble to me.

So I guess its fair to say that Pac is a cherrypicker for making De la hoya, Cotto and Cheato come down in weight.

whoever issues the challenge should make the adjustment especially for fighters at different weights. dawson can not say..."hey ward i want you to fight me so you need to move up". that's a bittcha$$ challenge right there.

Yeah that's what's ****** about this. Dawson was the one who brought it up being at 68. I appreciate Dawson calling him out, and saying he'd come down to make the fight. Ward is right to say he wants it at 68 since Dawson said he'd do it at 68. It should be for 1 of their belts and not at some silly catch weight. Lot of Ward haters in this thread.
