Comments Thread For: R. Mayweather: Floyd's Corrales Win is Best Performance

You can forgive trainer Roger Mayweather for not being overly-excited amidst the pre-fight madness of his nephew Floyd’s bout with Miguel Cotto Saturday night. The MGM Grand will play host to the Mayweather-Cotto ‘Ring Kings’ pay-per-view extravaganza and while the city of Las Vegas is buzzing over the event, it’s business as usual for Roger.

Back then Corrales was a beast at the time with great power and he had a huge size advantage over Mayweather so its easy to see why people was picking him to win that's was by far Mayweather's best performance to me

Idk if it was Floyd or what but I don't think Corrales looked his usual self in that fight. If you look at the fight vs Floyd and his fight vs Castillo, it makes you think, how the hell did Floyd drop him so easily?

How can you say, Cotto don't know anything bout boxing? hius record speaks for itself 39-2 (29ko's) 4 time Champion in 3 different weight classes but he don't know ish bout boxing...he beat mosley in his own game BOXING and was faster than him most of the fight...you have to give him some type of credit...

I agree with Roger, that was the best boxing display in recent history.

Chico looked awful though. How or why he decided to just plot after Floyd with no jab, no offense at all, was a joke. And in the end, Floyd boxed his ears off and beat him down.

                  That or Gatti...

Based on level of opposition, definitely Corrales.

Mayweather under wrapped his hand to punch harder and this fight was probably also the reason for Mayweather's hand trouble until his recent miracle recovery. Mayweather used to wrap his own hands those days and not use much gauze to hit harder, in this fight He lost his right center knuckle, He hit Corrales hard, but it did cost him down the line.
