Ortiz definitely quit physically and mentally. He could have gotten up and went on.

You know Ortiz quit by the interview he gave after the fight the next day or so. He said not only did he headbutt him on purpose but he was trying to break his nose. So what does that tell you? He was trying to get a automatic DQ. So F--- him and his sob story.

Sure he could... if the count was 20 instead of 10. He was hurt, he failed to beat the count, in boxing it is called a knock out.

that's why a sucker punch finish was bull****..
I just don't think Ortiz had anything left prior to the headbutt, and his last flurry was his last push with everything he had. I think the headbutt was his final desperate act, like tyson biting holyfield's ear.

Floyd was completely dominating him. There was nothing he could do to stop those right hands, ortiz knew he couldn't stop them and those things hurt. Plus floyd was just going easy on him up to the third round. He was starting to turn it up in the 4th and it was only gonna get worse.

Ortiz was looking to cortez begging for him to stop the fight. That's why he even got sucker punched in the first place. He was looking for a way out more than he was looking for a way to win.
