Too much hate on this boxing site and not enough boxing talk and facts. Mainly personal opinions.

This is exactly what I thought when reading the posts. Most of the keyboard warriors probably never lathed them up or fought on a mediocre level, now spitting venom of unfullfilled dreams.

It's a fact that Ishida was never knocked out and Pirog just won almost every round on the judges' scorecards. It might be still doubted whether he stays a chance against Martinez, but as the WBO titleholder he displays the willingness to unify, so why stop him from doing so.

Pirog's skill level definitely is above Macklin's and Barker's, so why not seeing whether Martinez has such an easy time knocking Pirog out. Hopefully the unification Pirog vs Gaele leaves a winner that might finally challenge Martinez. The best in the division should fight the best and debate about the respective winners is fine, as long as these fights happen.

Yes, Pirog shows a ton of skill beating second-rate opposition. So does Chris John. You might call it hate, but some of us are actually fans who would like to see him fight somebody legit and think his management sucks for putting him in with such weak opposition. Calling that hate is an easy out

He looked like a B level fighter beating a C level fighter to me. I saw a bunch of slow, pseudo-punches and feints and some right hands but he didn't spark Ishida out or anything. Ishida looked like he was supposed to.....Pirog looked like half the man that some people on here make him out to be.

Say what you want to about Segio, but the guy closes the show...he gets it done.

^that's why I'm afraid Martinez will lose to Chavez.

Chavez will only need to eat 4 or 5 of those straight lefts to get the picture. He will take the punches well in round 1, later 4 rounds of eating those like at a buffet, his face will be giving out on him until the ref stoppage.

Pirog beat Ishida convincingly, but he didn't make a STATEMENT. He doesn't fight consistently, and it's showing in his performances. A guy like him should be trying to maximize his time, just like every other older fighter. He's only had three fights since his win over Jacobs, and none of them have been against top 20 opposition. Sure, he tried to make a fight with Sergio, but it fell through. Why not fight Murray/Golovkin/Andy Lee?? There is worthy opposition out there, and he's not fighting them for one reason or another.

WELL DO IT THEN! You can fight Barker but not guys like Pirog and Peter Quillin? Why Sergio don't get called out for "CHERRY PICKING", Lara wants to fight him as does Quillin and Pirog, granted those are not big money fights but it is not Top Rank or Golden Boy JOB to "GIVE SERGIO A BIG FIGHT"

DiBella gotta just start Promoting Sergio on his own and just let him fight the Top Fighters at 160 because it is starting to look like a fight with Mayweather or Pacquiao is just not going to happen...DiBella is one of the few Promoters I actually like but he haven't developed any of his fighters into stars of even a Draw as a free HBO Network fighter, he and Gary Shaw basically DEPEND ON GBP and TOP RANK and Arum knows that which is why he is not going to do Martinez no favors by FEEDING HIM CHAVEZ JR

so if Quillin beats Winky he should be next in line because Chavez Jr is not going to fight Martinez either, you will like see him drop the belt if he beats Lee and move up...even though Chavez Jr would get SLAUGHTERS BY ALL THE TOP FIGHTERS AT 168!

Even if Martinez move down to 154, I still think he is going to have problems landing a BIG MATCH

Quillin was offered the fight BEFORE Barker. Quillin and his team turned it down. Stop that nonesense.
