Comments Thread For: Pirog: Ishida Was an Easier Fight Than I Expected

On Tuesday at the Sport Complex Krylatskoe in Moscow, WBO middleweight champion Dmitry Pirog (20-0, 15KOs) retained his title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Nobuhiro Ishida (24-8-2, 9KOs). The scores were 119-109, 120-108 and 118-111.

Prior to the fight, Pirog expected a very difficult battle, but once the two fighters started mixing it up in the ring, the champion realized the fight was easier than he first expected.

They don't invite you to Russia or Ukraine unless they know you have no chance of winning.
As for Pirog claiming it was an easy fight and the guy had so many weaknesses,I'm sure you would have knocked him out within 2 rounds if he was that easy.

looks abit like ishida in the grill :

this guy is going to be your worst nightmare. you better learn how to move around the ring before you fight him

          these two are not fleet
their eventual fight should be terrific

pirog is more active and technical
golovkin can turn the damn lights out

I still can't get over that this is only his third fight since the Jacobs upset. That was nearly three years ago! What type of ****ty managers does this guy have? Get him out there, even if it's just against some of the better contenders. At least he's keeping active and being seen.

No way! A guy barely in the top 40 wasn't as easy as you thought!?

Get your ass over here and start fighting some legit challengers, and you'll know what a tough fight is.

                  a real middleweight would do.

ishida is a career jr MW
and he's basically a journeyman with one big win

                  pirog clearly doesnt understand that
