As an example of my point, I checked the USA today 2/27/2003 indicates Roy Jones was a 9-5 favorite over Ruiz. Jones was outweighed by 32 lbs. Obviously its different fighters and different weights. Jones was the favorite based on the respect for his skills according to the article.

WHen Oxn asked me why I would think Floy is favored, I said Because Bute isn't as good as floyd and I didn't think dirrell was experienced enough.

I answered your questions. Can you answer these.
You say betting favorite, i say its crazy to have even brought this up in the first place.

Size and skill. The hell you think bute and dirrell just gonna stand there and be a punching bag? Those guys are elite fighters at 168. Those guys aren't slow and uncoordinated.

Because the skill level between Floyd and Bute is nowhere near as big a gap as Roy Jones and Ruiz lol.

Im actually surprised the betting odds werent even more in favor of RJJ.

Ok im done encouraging you, and hope you seek help.

AGreed. so we are clear, you can check the other thread. I said floyd would be the favorite going in. I didn't say anything else. As good as they are, I don't think they are so skilled they would be the betting favorite.

It's clearly what is in your mind to even entertain Floyd beating Dirrell and Bute at 168. He'll be outweighed by 30 pounds, either fighter is not only big but fast and hard hitting, with very good boxing skills, but you actually think Floyd has a chance. That's nuthugging to the highest degree.

Floyd would get shaken by any clean punch these two landed, let alone a good shot on the chin or to the body of any kind.

I figured facts would make you turn rail, run , and make it about me rather than my argument.

Fair point but I respectfully disagree. I think floyd is more skilled and would neutralize the size advantage. Its safe to say that was the thinking with RJJ/Ruiz, ruiz being bigger and longer, RJJ being fsater and more skilled.
