Floyd Mayweather has again raised hopes of a mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao by claiming he wants to stay active after Saturday's clash in Las Vegas with Miguel Cotto.

The 35-year-old has previously stated it is his intention to retire by the time he is 37, so with the clock ticking on what has been a glittering career for the seven-time world champion there is still that possibility - however small it may be - that he could take on Pacquiao and settle the long-running dispute about who is pound-for-pound king.

Sure Floyd the other 42 opponents does count but beating PAC will seal the deal. U can go out there and play against 40 teams but if none of those teams are the defending champ then it really just mean u beat all those 40 teams but u didn't beat the champ yet in Floyd's case it's pac since he's the current p4p.

Dont think so. Since a majority of fans (including pac fans), writers, former boxers, former trainers, current boxers, current trainers, and the list goes on, think that he lost to JMM that star isnt shining as bright anymore. This fight had hype till he got a gift decision. I dont think he stands a chance, but then again i never thought did.

No thats saying he doesn't want to have to go in the ring and take vicious beatings from Berbick and Holmes for paydays that late in his career.

If he wants to stay active and fight more fights without fighting Pacquiao I don't know why anyone would object to that. I laud him for that sincerely. That in itself is taking risks. I just hope he will do exactly what he says he'll do. That is, stay active till he reaches 37.

hopefully his next fight will be against canelo (if he wins) in a unification bout with the lineal title at stake or martinez
