Can't we all agree that Floyd is still in his prime?

I'm not so sure. I think he's gotten smarter, more accurate with his shots and isn't as active as he once was but I don't know if I can say he's past his prime.

I think he's elevated his game to another level. I think he has shown that he can be the purest of counter puncher and beat any style with his physical ability.

The way he single handedly broke down Mosley. The way he dominated a young fast and strong Ortiz, the way he picked JMM apart.

I just think his mentality has changed and he does less to accomplish more.

If Floyd is still prime then so is Kobe Bryant.

Just because hes still dominant doesnt mean hes in prime. Floyd has had injuries, several layoffs, and is 35 years old.

        Hes not prime. Period.

I agree with everything you said - just not sure if what you mentioned shows that he's still in his physical prime. He's slower and doesn't use his legs as much. Those are always telling signs to me.

i dont think he's prime anymore, but he learned to compensate by using his smarts more.

Off course thats true , look at Floyd at 130-135 he was a machine he would have beat Pac Morales and Barerra on the same night and followed up the next night spanking Hamed , they want to say Floyd is prime until he really does retire so every guy he fights is a bum and Floyd is prime and if Floyd ever gets beat even at 50 he will be in prime lol , all these silly threads just confirm how great Mayweather is .

I agree. As a rule most fighters go downhill little by little after they hit 30 years of age. Bad beatings can speed up the trip downhill.

Well, even though he was beating Ortiz and Mosley by a mile, he got hit harder and more than I was use to seeing him get hit. That doesn't mean he's shot or anything, because he still KILLS guys, but the fact that he didn't just get hit, but got hit clean and HARD makes me scratch my head.

Floyd fans are easily impressed. Being able to beat Victor Ortiz to the punch a few times proves nothing. I would have like to have seen that fight go the distance. Floyd would have won a UD but it would have been good for him to have a young guy coming after him in the late rounds. He hasn't seen that in god knows how long.
