i like bellew,i did wonder why he was fighting on sky with eddie hearn who seemed to be bigging him up.to read that hes still promoted by warren was a suprise.surely he cant keep being promoted by warren but fight on sky? think boxnation is good for boxing, the more boxing shown live on tv the better.i thought at the start that with the likes of burns, mitchell, murray, cleverly, groves, degale, belle w they would be happy getting regular fights on live shows but now reading bellews discontent, which has followed degales-whats happening there???-im not sure.

Boxnation is great for boxing in the UK but they need to do more to get people to sign up. Unless you are 'in the know' and follow boxing, you probably wouldn't know it exists. On top of that, they are a bit cheeky with new subscribers. Take saturday just gone as an example. For a new subscriber it's £10 a month the same as everyone else, right? Well not if you want it on today it isn't. If you ring them on the day of a fight and sign up, they'll tel you if you want it on for today's fight, you have to pay a quick connection charge of £9.20! What a rip off! ESPN dont do this, MUTV dont do this, and Sky don't do this either. That's just plain greedy and pisses me off!!!
Their advertising has £10 a month no minimum term, etc but nowhere does it say that on the day of a fight you have to pay almost another tenner just to receive the service you're paying to subscibe to.Comment

Absolutely agree.brook has just headlined and sold out the Sheffield arena , before that he had his American début , before that he beat a harded if but old world level operator in ndou , lets face it he was rotting away on undercards with warren , warren was the man who said he cant sell tickets in his home town ?
matchroom has done more for him in a few fights than warren did for all brooks time with him , hes actually gaining momentum and is been promoted well , and bellew is smart enough to see it to , as will others !!
and how the hell is 19000 people viewing fights good for boxing lol its crap for boxing !
whats good for boxing is what hennessy is doing , were
millions are watching not just a few thousand !!
sinking ship !!Comment

You subscribe to MUTV? Hilarious.Boxnation is great for boxing in the UK but they need to do more to get people to sign up. I'm sure if they carry on bringing the big overseas fights they'll do pretty well, they have a long term contract with both Golden Boy and Sauerland promotions so i dont see any problems on that front.
I subbed from the start and feel it's pretty decent value for money, I'm sure they'll get more subscribers they've not even been on the air for more than a few month.Comment

Exposure is what boxing needs. A handful of subscribers and production that that verges on laughable. The idea is great but it falls short in so many ways. No HD either. Having to listen to the overly aggressive Steve Bunce verbally **** guests is not easy watch either....Boxnation is great for boxing in the UK but they need to do more to get people to sign up. They've recorded all their fights from the start with HD cams, they'll launch the HD service sometime this year from what I've heard.Exposure is what boxing needs. Liverpool FC TV is free...wonder why?

Yeh they have had they will launch HD in 2012 on the website since launch. We're now almost in May.....Watching something recorded in SD blown up on a 60 inch samsung is ****ing nasty. It's not 1995. To even launch a new subscription channel (especially sports) in SD with rancid production is not going to do anything to attract a casual fan.
Boxnations website suggest they have been filming in HD so why has it not been launched? I cant find a definite number of boxnation subscribers but it has been suggested they will have meet 100k within a couple of years. (that may be off the mark) The fact they ditched the minimum tie in period recently really suggests they are struggling to me.
I do appreciated their effort and believe the price is would be more than reasonable if the overall package was more polished. Clean up the production (it sometimes can be so poor I wonder if 1 man and his sony handycam are doing the filming) get HD launched, have the ability to watch online, update their website more often and get Steve Bunce to take a couple of Valium before getting in front of the camera or even better replace him with someone with an ounce of professionalism.
I'd pay £15-£20 if I had all of the above but it's Frank Warren we are talking about. He's not going to speculate to accumulate on such a large scale which makes me think it's destined to fail.Comment

On last week's Ringside they showed some footage courtesy of Boxnation of the Bellew/Cleverly fight in crystal clear HD so that to me suggests they have been filming in HD with the intention of launching the service soon.Yeh they have had they will launch HD in 2012 on the website since launch. I read somewhere they need around 100k subs just to break even, Setanta couldn't manage to get 200k subs to break even so ended up going bust. Hope the same thing doesn't happen here otherwise most of the cards from overseas will be back on Primetime for £15 a pop because Sky wouldn't be showing 5hit.
It's true their coverage is unprofessional, I thought with Richard Keys joining the team things will get better but I guess not. TBH I don’t really listen to a thing they say some people actually like Buncey's style from the old days at least he knows boxing. But they could try smartening things up a bit.
Even with all their problems I still feel we're getting a decent service for the price and this will only improve since they've only been on air since last December. I mean the Yanks have to pay around $70 just to watch the Mayweather card this week so we’re lucky in that regard.Comment
