and Im not sure what point youre trying to make. Katsidis fits the definition of 'face first, unskilled brawler' even worse than Rios and still gave Marquez hell, and Marquez is just getting older. The fight is quite winnable for Rios, especially without the weight drain.

And if he fights another ranked guy, thats just fine, but give me a break. A fight with Rios is substantially better than a win over fodder like Fedchenko, not only from a fans standpoint but from a legitimate fight point of view.
What you consider or think means nothing, the fact is Marquez is ranked @ 140 and Rios isn't other than the possibility of an exciting fight he brings nothing to the table. He's a high risk low reward fighter..... and even if he did beat Rios fans would just discredit the win anyway...
I don't blame him for not taking the match...

      sigh.

As a boxing fan, NOT JMMS MATCHMAKER, which would you rather see?

      Marquez vs Fedchenko type fodder?
or Marquez vs Rios in a very exciting and entertaining fight that people would be interested in?

Good, Rios doesn't deserve that fight.

STFU Y'all B!tches talking like you are Marquez's Managers.
He'll decide what he wants to do next, he deserves it, unlike Pus$iao and Mayweather that dont fight each other, Marquez has fought both, he's not ducking anybody, he's not afraid of anybody and he doesnt need to please complaining b!tches.

Marquez is almost 40 and he just went up 2 weight classes to fight the
                # 1 P4P Fighter of the Decade.

He can do and fight who ever the hell he wants....
The bold text pretty much tells it as it is. Marquez has proven himself multiple times throughout the years. He's allowed to do as he pleases. Feel free not to watch. Id love to see him up against Zab but as a boxing fan and as a JMM fan I'd watch him fight my grandma

Marquez is afraid to get outboxed again by another technical boxer. so he takes the easy fights to polish his record while he continues to live off Pacquiao's name.

Of course it's not pointless to Marquez. However, it is pointless to everyone else. The third fight proved to be less exciting. The fourth will be the same or maybe worse. No one except die hard Marquez fans will want to pay and see that fight.

Bum Bum is no real challenge for the skilled, Marquez doesn't want to humiliate the streetfighter.
