Hopkins comes from an era were you have to TAKE the title from the champion and a fight like that wouldn't have gotten it done back in the day. I say they both loss the fight was so boring but Hopkins didn't get robbed he lost that fight.

imisupu, normally the "you gotta whoop the champ" rule applied, when it was a fairly even fight, where neither fighter pressed the action, and neither fighter, took control of the championship rounds...haven't seen the fight, but from all indications, bernard hopkins, didn't land enough punches, to retain the title...

If Hopkins momma was close enough he would have picked her up and swung her at Dawson, dude will do anything to win.

I thought for about the first 6 rounds it was competitive, but Bad Chad won those rounds, closely. It was competitive.

Then in the next 4 rounds I thought Dawson was very aggressive and had a high workrate, pushing Hopkins back and looking like he was overwhelming B-Hop. Hopkins did better in the last 2 rounds.

Aside from Hopkins headbutting in the early part of the fight, cutting Chad, the fight actually turned out to be better than I anticipated. I watched it in a friends house in mute with loud music so I didn't have to listen to the grumpy, high standard, fight ruiners AKA the HBO crew that will mentally make fans believe is worse than it really is. Me and my friends and their family enjoyed the fight. Everyone was interested in the fight from round 1 to 12. It was a good boxing match.

People act surprised every time BHop fights like BHop. If you didn't like his style ten years ago, why are people expecting to like it now? BHop is the same as he ever was. The dirtiest fighter around and he has been allowed to get away with so much of it.

It was a decent chess match. The first four rounds were terrible, as bad as could be expected, but the cut from the headbutt changed the fight. Other than Hopkins's ridiculous flop and tackle in the 11th, it was alright.

That ****** unwritten rule of taking the title away from the champion is what kills boxing. Good riddance to that "era". That ****** sh#t has caused many bad decisions. **** it. Dawson won the boxing match, he desevres the ****ing title. Dawson did more to win the title, than Hopkins did to keep it. Period. End of story.

i had it 10 rounds to 2 for dawson. bernard should never ever headline a ppv card or boxing main event televised on hbo or showtime. His fights should he continue should now be used to augment a card, not headline. His fight antics continually hurt the sports standing with the mainstream fans.

I had it a draw. Dawson won his rounds more clear-cut than Hopkins did but Dawson never really forced the fight and Bernard seemed to me to land a lot of punches that the commentators were ignoring. Where as everytime that Dawson let his hands go, they were going crazy like he was doing a lot more than he really was. It was a close fight that was difficult to score. Those who say Dawson won clearly were seeing what they wanted to see, rather than what was really happening in there and I think that Bernard deserves a rematch.
