People should stop nitpicking potential fights. Ward-Dawson may not be a barn burner, but it's champ vs. champ, who doesn't want that?!

Ward-Dawson is great, Ward-Bute is great, Dawson-Pascal/Cloud is great, they're all great fights. And personally, I think Dawson-Campillo would be a very interesting fight! These are all good fights. Just be grateful if any of them happen!

many of the best fighters squaring off in their primes have not made for barnburners

in fact, very few confrontations between some of the best on the planet have been wars.

6-0 foot, 71 inch reach (Ward)

          6 foot-1 inches, 76 inch reach (Dawson)

If Dawson can keep Ward at a distance, he should win. Ward doesn't throw enough punches to swarm Dawson and shut him down. It is a close fight..I think Dawson can pull out the win.

              Ward would likely beat Dawson

with that correction being made it's pretty weak of dawson to go that route.

this is similar to hopkins steering clear of dawson some time back, but when pascal called him out, hopkins decided he was ready to fight. of course the dawon fight has happened for hopkins now, and we can see why he wanted to avoid it back then- a bad style match-up

for ward, bute is a real threat. a devastating puncher who can do it in close- just look at the kos by body shot, bute has an awkward sytle can fights with a lot of confidence. chad dawson doesn't really have power, can't fight in the inside, and seems to be weak mentally.

i'm sure americans will get behind this fight and at least it is two titleholders in their prime.
And who has Bute fought? please don't say the dinosaur Glen Johnson.
