Watch the Saul Roman fight in the first round how Vanes is just throwing 1 2s and once he finally decides to open up with a combo he leaves himself opened and gets dropped. Vanes stand no chance vs Lara.

Lara kills him. Lara is the best fighter at 154, and honestly it's not real close. I think he's getting better with each fight. He destroyed PW, who is not nearly as washed up as everyone thinks. I'd still give PW a chance against any fighter in the division other than Lara. Lara just has to find a way to get a shot at one of these guys. Problem is Canelo and Cotto are never fighting him. His best chance at making a name for himself might be to eventually fight Martinez, who can't get great fights either.

Obviously it is a better fight than Canelo vs. Mosley. With that being said, it won't happen because Canelo isn't going to bind himself. He is going to take another fight against another washed up fighter before fighting Floyd or just wait for him. He isn't going to take a high-risk fight against any of the top ranked 154s out there. It sucks for Lara because nobody has a reason to fight him. He is a high risk, low reward fighter that GBP should really start supporting more.
