If no Vanes or Sergio then Kirkland or Molina is the way to go. Kirkland fought an eliminator vs Molina as well.

Nice interview for a change.
I've never been a big fan of Lara. Nothing personal, I just don't like the way he fights very much. But this interview makes me like Erislandy just a bit more. I like fighters that are determined enough, smart enough and humble enough to listen to their trainers and do what they have to do to win.Comment

Lara needs to go with a promoter that is going to put some money behind him. I don't get why GBP is pushing Canelo so hard when they have to protect him, yet don't do anything for Lara, who can actually fight. GB has enough money to make both fighters big names.Comment

Nobody in the top 10 really don't want to fight Lara unless it is a mandatory. The WBC is a joke in putting all these elimination fights while Canelo fights un-ranked foes in a title he picked up vacant against a 147 fighter.Comment

yes indeed bro boxing at its finest i couldnt figure out why he was fighting hearns and why he gets no push as a good up and comerComment

It's in fact the actual opposite. I know straight from Lara & his wife. Molina is one of the fight Lara wants the most because he's mad at his first result. He wants to get Molina again badly to show the world they don't even belong in the same ring together. The first fight was a fluke because he went unprepared with only 2 weeks of training. He said it himself, he thought Molina was a bum and he took it as a stay busy fight thinking it was going to be an easy win. Of course, he paid for it and he and his wife swore they would never take a fight without proper preparation ever again.Lara's people don't want it.
"While Molina would love a rematch, Luis DeCubas, Lara's manager and the card's co-promoter, said no."

The only thing you're right, is that De Cubas doesn't want this fight. The reason is that he is the manager of both and suddenly Molina became someone after drawing with Lara. He knows Lara would easily destroy Molina and he doesn't want that now that Molina is someone.Comment

I always told my bro Lara would be the more successful of the three, Gamboa, Lara and Rigo but he always told me I was crazy cause Gamboa was the most skilled. Lara is a southpaw and got more room to develop imo, as well as younger.Nice interview for a change.

I guess time will tell. I thought from the start that Gamboa is the only Cuban with true superstar potential. It has more to do with his style than with his ability. (I place Yuri second to Rigo in terms of talent.) Gamboa is flashy. He is lightning in a bottle. Yuri's very aggressive, athletic and hits hard with both hands.
Lara, and especially Rigo, like to counter. Landy has good (but not great) power. He's very patient, but can obviously open up and take many opponents out early. Guillermo is (so far, at least) a little too patient for the pros. He's a deadly counter-puncher, but he needs to take the lead when his opponent is unwilling to take a chance. Many underrate Rigo’s power.
In my opinion, aggressiveness and power are what most boxing fans crave. There's also a market for flashiness. Gamboa has all three; the others are somewhat lacking in one or more categories.Comment

Yea but I think we already seen everything Gamboa has to offer. While Lara has more room to improve. As far as Rigo goes, only thing he has to improve on Imo is being more aggressive. Which he could be if you watch the fight vs Landeros. He was throwing a beautiful jab and being more aggressive than usual.I guess time will tell. I don't think we've necessarily seen everything Gamboa has to offer, but I agree that the others have more room for growth. All these guys spent so much time as amateurs that they have to get in a lot of fights as pros before they reach their professional potential, if that's even possible anymore. Yuri has the most pro fights by far. That explains much of his development. It'll be very interesting to see where Rigo and Lara go. If we think they're good now, even our wildest expectations might fall short.Yea but I think we already seen everything Gamboa has to offer. While Lara has more room to improve.
