The way May is selling the Cotto fight is saying that he is not weight draining him like Pac did. He is going to flip it for his next fight and say, If martinez wants to fight me he has to come down in weight???

      I don't see it.
That's not true. Sergio Martinez sat down with one of the announce team guys and they asked him if he was a 154 pounder fighting at 160. He said he is a natural 154 pound fighter who's at 160 for business purposes. Sergio said for us not to rule him out to return to 154. If Floyd fights him it can't be at 150. At 150 he could be weight drained. Floyd can't talk about Pac catching Cotto at a catchweight then turn around and say he'll fight Martinez at a catchweight. That's exactly what he did during his media day. If he fights Martinez it must be a 154. No lighter. As far as Pac is concerned...He never really wanted the fight with Floyd. He'd prefer to beat up on guys like Clottey, Margarito, and the obviously washed up Shane Mosley. He always wants to be the fastest fighter in the ring and with Floyd, he will not be. If he doesn't get him to do something desperate and drastic (like try to make a catchweight that will sap his strength), he will not fight them. Pac won't fight Cotto at 150 and Floyd will probably remain at 154 so that fight is lost in the shuffle. At 35 Floyd will put these pounds on and keep them on. I wouldn't advise Floyd to go back to 147 after this.

Now that Chavez has officially ducked Martinez yet again, there is no reason this fight shouldn't get made. Floyd-Martinez for pfp supremacy. Hell they can name the event the real pfp king!!

Sergio Martinez is overrated and doesn't bring much to the table in terms of marketability. Whether you like it or not, Saul Alvarez has a bigger fanbase and that bout would generate more money than Floyd fighting Martinez. It's not going to happen. And you can hate on Floyd all you want but the reality is that no sensible businessman would take a more dangerous fight for less money when there is an easier fight available for more money. As long as Canelo beats Shane, he's going to get the Mayweather fight. If Shane somehow finds a way to win that fight then we might see Mayweather-Martinez but I highly doubt it.

Good, I like floyd when hes active when he goes on those long vacations he loses me as a fan. boxings top stars MUST be more active. 2 fights at the very minimum.

I can think of one reason.

                Floyd doesn't want it.

Well thank you for admitting that you fully expect Floyd to fight the far less dangerous Canelo for money than the far more dangerous Martinez to prove his greatness. Good job milton.

What is appalling is our court / justice system allowing him some free room before going to jail whereas a regular citizen cannot be given the same "grace". Obviously there's a double standard in our society.

Also I don't know whether there is an expression of remorse by Floyd or really a selective issue by the writer not to include it. The admission of guilt and wrong doing is a very important thing inorder to have closure and healing because it isn't just about Floyd here but the victim likewise.

I really hope that Floyd would heal as he said he would need to "grow mentally...for a while".

martinez is a better, more dangerous, more intriguing fight than pacquiao ever was or will be. the general boxing public with some form of knowledge and background on the sport simultaneously agree that floyd would dominate pac in a one sided fight. well, that, and its not hard to see thats how it would play it out, no matter how many people try to lie to themselves and say pac would win. hehehe bless their little hearts
Martinez is bigger than pac that's it. If Floyd beat Martinez then he beat a bigger guy. That's it's. Martinez resume and legacy is nowhere near PAC so please stop it.
