  • Comments Thread For: Austin Trout Has a Target List: Kirkland, Canelo, Vanes

Current WBA Junior Middleweight champion Austin Trout will return to US television when he takes on the always exciting Delvin Rodriguez as part of a quadrupleheader on June 2nd airing live on Showtime. While Trout holds a major title in one of boxing’s deepest divisions, he hasn’t had much success being able to land a big name fight. Part of the problem was him recently fighting more outside of the US than in it but he has since signed to Al Haymon and plans to get the proper exposure.

Lmao come on bro, who are you kidding? No one wants to fight you? Lara been calling you out and just called you a fraud too and still ignoring it? Just cause you beat big brother doesn't mean you gonna beat little brother either.

TBH Id like to see Lara vs Pirog @ 160. Whole lot of style in that match.

he'd lose to all 3, but Vanes is only 1 who wouldn't ko Trout...he's not a draw & needs 2b w/another top guy fighting on the same card...Trout's way over rated & has fought no1 unless 1 counts Rigo Alvarez (who can't spare w/his brother..

I doubt Lara will fight at 160 until he gets a title at 154 or unless he gets a shot at a 160 title.

Really? This Lara thing again? If you take the time out to learn about the details behind Lara's talking, you would realize that the fight isn't happening because Golden Boy isn't really trying to make it happen. It isn't because Trout won't fight him. Out of the people he named, ONLY Vanes wants to fight Trout, and that is because of there experience together in the amateurs.

Trout would dance circles around Canelo and his promoters know it. As for Kirkland, that would be a good fight. Austin is a better boxer, but James has more punching power, it would be interesting to watch. A fight with Vanes would be a toss up, it will depend on how much of a different fighter Austin is compared to when they fought as amateurs. Also, David Lopez is much better than Rigoberto Alvarez, and a win against Delvin Rodriquez will only build on the fact that Austin has what it takes to become one of the top guys at 154, if not the top.
