I think Floyd mentally blocked Castillo's fight, like people do when they have been rapped as a child. He totally erase that 1st fight from his memory.

But, on a side note, if the fight was not close as everyone but you seems to think it was, why would Floyd have taken that rematch? Think about it. He felt like he lost or it was at least very close so he even wanted to set the record straight. It doesn't take away from what happened regaurdless though, which is that he probably should have a draw or a loss on that unblemished record that he so covets.
