Cotto's fought just about everyone he possibly could in his career around his weight class. If he fights a couple guys not on the top 10, sue him.

I'm good with either one. Kirkland has a solid win over Julio, and a good win over Angulo when Alfredo was probably the most feared guy at the time. Molina is right there though, with a close fight against Lara, a win over Cintron, and he was beating Kirkland when all the crazy s**t happened.

Given Kirkland having the busted shoulder going in, and the holding that happened, as well as having Molina almost out of there in the 10th had it not been for the excessive holding early on, I wanted to see Kirkland-Molina II. But we probably won't until Kirkland or Molina lose again or something.

Both Kirkland and Molina are Top SWW's, I'm good with either one for Canelo. Canelo wanted no part of Kirkland after he beat Angulo's a$$, but I think they smell blood now and will fight Kirkland in September, and than Cotto, if Floyd doesn't fight Canelo in December first.

Regardless, these are the kind of fights Canelo needs to start taking, legit fights with Top fighters. He should have fought Vanes in 2011 instead of Matthew Hatton or Alfonso Gomez. And he should have fought Delvin Rodriguez instead of Shane.

it doesn't matter now though since he's fighting Floyd but were those fights good enough to prepare to Floyd?

They never put 2 PPV's in the same month, and November is Manny's PPV/December is Floyd's PPV.

If Floyd doesn't fight Canelo in December, I fully expect to see Canelo-Cotto, and I'd be hyped as hell to see that. That'd be a big fight.
Oh, and Canelo also has to beat and look good against Molina or Kirkland.

angulo was only feared by cowards like vanes......Cintron gave him a boxing lesson and Molina beat him

also i think Lara would KO Kirkland with ease

Who else was Floyd going to fight in May 2012??? Pac was out, Sergio foght Macklin in March, Berto-Oritz are fighting, Khan has to rematch Peterson, who else was there???? Cotto is a solid fight, and it's important for Floyd to get him on his resume while Cotto can still fight. No one that Cotto could have fought would have prepared him for Floyd though.

Foreman as a good fight, a Top 10 SWW with a title, and it was when Cotto was coming up in weight. Mayorga was bulls**t, he should have fought someone like Bundrage or Cintron at that time or something like that. And Margarito was ehhhh not very good, but I understand why he fought him. He had to avenge that loss to Margarito.

Well yeah he has to beat them in convincing fashion of course.

                      I doubt it.

Also they're are both incredibley slow and easy to hit.

I think Cotto will be overwhelmed by the difference when he fights Mayweather compared to his last two fights.
