I have never seen anybody dispute that Hopkins rushed in, over Chad. Dawson was going lower than necessary (pretty much crouching) but, regardless, Hopkins rushed him. Everybody can see and accept this. Why are you stating it over and over again? It doesn't change the tackle that Dawson then did.
Hopkins rushed Dawson, Dawson threw him down, Hopkins was injured. That's just the way it went down, and it was *****ty for everybody.
The point here is that Dawson and Shaw keep denying that the throw ever occurred, keep accusing Hopkins of faking an injury, and seem to deny reality because they don't want to admit culpability. At least in this article Dawson finally admits to the throw... or "shove" as he calls it.
Exhibit A: a shove doesn't involve putting the hand behind a leg and lifting.
Hopkins had everything to gain from winning that fight - oldest fighter of the year, oldest fighter to defend his belt etc - and had not been put under any pressure by Dawson, had no reason to quit. The attack that he quit is just Dawson trying to convince himself that Hopkins doesn't have the upper hand mentally and Gary Shaw blowing off steam. I'm surprised they took the rematch, TBH. If the TKO hadn't be overturned, I don't think they would have taken the rematch.

man, i don't know who is worse, hopkins, and his dirty tactics, or his excuse making nuthuggers, who co-sign his garbage style of fighting, chalking it up to "old school tactics"...ni### what?...it was a double-foul, that hopkins clearly initiates, that obviously backfired...they keep shoving a mike in dawson's face, and dawson has been consistent with his take on the whole situation...hopkins keeps his mouth shut, cause even he knows if he engages a discussion about the incident, it opens up a whole new can of worms...
we can pull up enough years of hopkins foulfest to make a 2hr. movie with, and all somebody can pull up on dawson is one hook on a leg, which was tame compared to hopkins history for fouling...
hopkins fans man just tell ya boy to keep it clean this fight so the handful of folks who attend get their money's worth...Comment

it's so sad to see people making excuses for ***** hopkins. i mean this guy has done the same exact move BEFORE, he has cryed in countless amounts of fights, and you guys really believe this man?

Face it ***** hops was forced to contractually fight Dawson and he tried to fraud his way out with this move. He got his belt back but too bad they made him fight a mandtory rematch!! haahah, ***** Hops thought he could weseal his way out of this but too bad he's going to have to fight Dawson this time.
