easier fight for donaire, hope it gets made. much tougher fights out there.
Donaire will duck Mares!

Id like to see him get away from Mares. Mares is not like Rios or Maidana who come straight forward. Also, did you miss the first rounds vs Morel last night when he was actually boxing? Until Morel got suckered into Mares' fight and started brawling.Comment

No triangle theory here, just simple facts. Mares had a good amateur record, fought in the Olympics, undefeated champ, while Vasquez has no amateur experience whatsoever, been in boxing for 2 1/2 to 3 years tops, not experienced and learning hands on as he goes. BIG DIFFERENCE!
No need to get your little feelings hurt, remember this is a boxing forum where people can post their thoughts and give opinions. Oh, and in case you didn't know, I like Donaire. I think he's way more fundamentally sound than Pacquiao.Last edited by -Huey-; 04-22-2012, 06:33 PM.Comment

Mares looked good but Donaire fights nothing like Morel. Mares swings wide with an overhead right hook punch....Donaire will stick him with a left hook every time he does that. Donaire uses distance very well and his jab would throw Mares off his game....on the inside, Mares would do very well but I don't think Donaire will let the fight go there.Comment

Donaire beats Mares H2H most likely, though it's not like Abner would roll over though.
Donaire-Moreno/Mares isn't happening anytime soon. The best shot at fights for Donaire at 122 are against Arce, Nishioka, and Rigondeaux. I think he'll fight Mijares (crap fight) in the summer, and than Arce in the fall (solid fight, better than anything since Montiel easily). And I could see him jumping to 126 after that and fighting Lopez, Salido, Dib, etc. If he didn't jump to 126 starting in 2013, I could still see him fighting Nishioka. Rigondeaux will never get the chance to fight Donaire, and we can't even use the Bob Arum excuse 100% on this one. I'm sure Arum is about 50% at least the reason, but Donaire flat out said he won't fight Rigo because he's boring...................and people accept that from Donaire for some damn reason.
Rigo won't get matched with Top 122 lb fighters until 2013/until Donaire leaves 122. Bob doesn't want any pressure put on himself to make Donaire-Rigo, because there's already pressure from fans to make that fight.Comment

Judging by Donaire fighting Narvaez-Vazquez Jr-Mijares in a row, you could be right.
I see Donaire fighting Mijares in the summer (crappy fight) and Arce in the fall (solid fight, at least Arce TKO'd WV2). Than, if he doesn't fight Nishioka, because fights with Moreno and Mares aren't happening, and we know damn well he isn't going to fight Rigondeaux, I see him fighting Juan Manuel Lopez or Billy Dib most likely in the Spring 2013. Than, I could see him fighting Salido. Salido is good, but Donaire can beat him.
That's just what I see happening. People never want to blame Donaire for anything, but he didn't fight Agbeko, Moreno, or Mares at 118. And it's very possible he could leave 122 without fighting Moreno, Mares, Rigondeaux, and Nishioka.
Donaire is likable guy outside of the ring, and inside the ring he has many skills, though I hate his wannabe Roy Jones stuff he tries to do. But, the gu gets so many passes from his fans and others, especially on here, that it's hard to like him. He's been in 4 weight classes, is 29 years old, and has wins over Darchinyan-Maldonado-Mthalane-H. Marquez-Montiel-Vazquez Jr, people act as if he's the second coming of jesus or something, and his resume isn't all that. Look at who someone like Mayweather had beaten by the time he was 29 and into his 4th weight class. It's not even close.
He has a solid Flyweight resume, with Darchinyan-Maldonado-Mthalane on there. Vic was Top 10 P4P, one of the best Flyweights in the world hands down. Maldonado and Mthalane were both Top 10 ranked Flyweights as well. He has an ehhhh Super Flyweight resume, with H. Marquez and Concepcion on there. Neither were Top 10 Super Flyweights when Nonito beat them, and he only won the interim title there, not good at all. He has a short Bantamweight resume, though a very good win over Top 10 P4P Montiel on there. Still, left the division without fighting the other Top guys. Omar Narvaez was just a joke, he had no business fighting for a title at 118, it was a joke. That would be alright if he went to 122 to fight the top guys right away (Nishioka, Arce, Rigondeaux, etc), but he hasn't even come close to that yet. He beat Vazquez Jr, who was TKO'd by Arce in his only step up, crappy fight. Now he's fighting Mijares, who hasn't done anything in 4 years at all.
He just gets too many passes.Comment
