Donaire tried out for the US Olympic team and in a somewhat interesting twist of fate got eliminated from qualifying by Brian Viloria. Donaire tweets like a 15 year old girl and lives in California. I consider him American because him and his father's story is exactly what America is all about.

Donaire got beat up against Vasquez Jr, a guy whose only been boxing for 2.5 years with no amateur background, but he'll beat Mares who is a proven young, undefeated fighter who has been fighting and beating the top guys in his division? Yeah right.

And sure Donaire won, but the fight should not have been that close, should have been an easy KO win for him since Vasquez is not even that experienced.
