Still shouldn't have said anything about taking lesser money, that was straight up dumb as hell.
I've given up on that fight, fights like Donaire-Rigondeaux, Donaire-Moreno, Ward-Bute, Mayweather-Sergio, are more interesting anyway, to me at least.
November 12, 2011 killed Mayweather-Pacquiao for most people.
I just doubt it'll happen.
How long does Manny have left on Top Rank??? I'm just asking because I have no idea.Comment

The less money has to do with the guarantee. Its still the case that Pacquaio would probably get a smaller guarantee. Nothing to do with the split of the revenuLast edited by Dirk Diggler UK; 04-22-2012, 08:28 PM.Comment

I was only asking because I think it could happen if Pac is done with TR at some point. Just don't know when that happens.
Still, I've given up on it. Most did after last November, and the only ones that didn't then probably have now.Comment

I dont understand this new line about Manny losing to Marquez "killing the fight" because most of the Mayweather fans were crying bloody murder and duck when it seemed as though Pac was ducking the fight with Arum's excuses.
Now suddenly, they don't want the fight?Comment

Your original point is that he formerly HAD tax problems, which is not true. You came at me, not the other way around. You talked shit in your first responce name calling when you know nothing about me.
He makes a lot of money so he will owe a bunch in taxes and he had problems in the past so it is not like it is shocking that he would have some issues. I wouldn't call him oweing 3 million a major issue when he is about to make 30.
I also wouldn't call that a small mistake and you were the one on the high horse. Tax issues are only major if one can't cover them, if one can't then they are a real big problem. Floyd is fully capable of covering his problem currently.
You didn't think I would make you get off that high horse~ lol
And it is indeed a small mistake because he still has tax problems. Even if he can cover it, it's still a big hit to him. It further validates the need for future big paydays. And paying past due taxes today are taxes from income at least before 2011. IRS hasn't even looked at 2011 yet. So I don't expect these problems to go away anytime soon.
And by the way, your original Floyd tax issue argument is dumb logic. Whether you and Floyd know or not, negotiating a 50-50 split is about the current market value of the fighters, NOT what Floyd owes or doesn't owe at the time. Using that argument only means you were supporting Floyd's ignorant point of view. Is that what you were doing? I hope not.
And since you were using that argument, do you know if Floyd's tax problems back in 2009 were more than 14 million? You should check because if they were much less, then you have no point. Even if he still owes 3mil in overdue taxes (and counting) and Pacquiao's current market value is better than back in 2009 (which it is), then how are you going to argue that Floyd can play "hardball" now and offer less than 50-50?Last edited by adp023; 04-22-2012, 08:46 PM.Comment

the debt was for 3.5 mil and his maybach was not repo'd. for a man who claims to deal in fact you sure leave a lot to be desired Mr ed. and so with pac being investigated by the irs and his home town gov, should he accept the 40 million from floyd and make more money that he has EVER made in a pro fight? seems to me he would accept all that money and pay his irs, gov and former accountants he borrowed money from. and where are all the jokes from *******s? when floyd owed the irs there were yuk yuks, all day. but now pac owes multiple en****** there is the "leave his personal life out of this" what a plentiful bunch of jokers.Excuse my butting in just this time only. Mayweather had the proceeds of one of his fights seized by the IRS a couple of years ago, for a debt of $7 1/2 mill. I think it may have been the Marquez fight, when at the same time, his one-room one-girl Mayweather Promotions office was evicted "onto the street". He was also being dunned for back house mortgage payments and I think one of his cars was repossessed. This was according to the report. As for the $30 mill purse, who knows what %age of that actually lands in his pocket, we only have his word for what he gets. And..... there'll be more taxes on that $30 mill. As for DP023accusing you of "knit picking" on every word....if you'd done that, you'd have zoomed in on the spelling of "nit" (baby louse) picking which he spelled "knit".
Did you know that the Mayweather Productions phone number was supposed to be unlisted, at least up to the last report I read a few months ago.
Just being "politically correct" here.Comment
