Sounds like a duck excuse to me. Americans fight each other all the time. So do Mexicans, PRs, Dominicans, etc.
He just doesn't want any part of a fight with Lara to me.

Cuban pro boxers in the US are scarce. Why would they eliminate themselves? Doesn't make any sense.

The loser wouldn't be eliminated though, both these dudes have skills. I don't know maybe I have the mindset of beat anyone in your way. I'm not looking out for my nation to be the best, I'm looking out for my career and if I have to go through my countrymen, so bet it.

This. Excluding anyone from your potential opponent list is pretty ****ing lame. I even wish Vitali & Wladimir would fight. Its just a sport that decides who the better boxer is folks you don't gotta hate your opponent. I don't think Quillin & Lara is getting fans begging for them to fight each other yet & may not ever reach that point, but wtf at those type of comments all the same.

I don't think they would do that. We are very few in the sport of pro boxing, in the US at least, and we should embrace as many Cubans as possible. Cuban or Cuban-American, it doesn't matter. We should consider them one of ours.

Quillin should fight Lara but Canelo, Chavez, Kirkland, Martinez don't have to fight him?

Basically trying to use them to keep each other down, as someone mention that is exactly what happened with Alexander vs Bradley...that fight should have never happened so soon...BRADLEY WAS 100% RIGHT!
