Is Cotto the best "boxer" floyd has ever faced???

When you think of the best "boxers" floyd has ever faced cotto actually comes up on a very short list.

Oscar was by nowhere close to being a pure boxer by the time floyd faced him and cotto did beat judah who floyd had trouble with.

Let's not act like Cotto wasn't dazed against Judah either and started doing better after some nice low blows. >__>...and this was after Judah's ass had been whupped a few times.

Cotto is one of the better body punchers Floyd has faced. But Cotto doesn't commit as much to the body like he used to..so there's that too.

Right...but apart from judah noone on floyd's resume stands out as being a better "boxer" than cotto.

Someone just made a list right above you (a post or a few above) and that pretty much sums it up.

Cotto is unfortunately nothing new for Floyd. You could probably even add Shane to that list..and seeing as many think Shane (even on the decline) beat Cotto...that's gotta stand for something as well.

Cotto is pretty well rounded and has a few tools of fighters he has faced all in one..but ultimately, I think you need to be able to compete with Floyd's speed (not surpass, but be able to keep him honest) to beat him. Cotto is neither the faster, hardest hitting, strongest, or biggest guy Floyd has fought. I don't like his chances at all....but you bet your ass I'm rooting for Cotto.

Cotto has the potential to give Floyd problems at times, but I honestly don't see anything past a problem here and there.

If he wins I wouldn't be shocked...but I'm not betting anything on that.

jmm was the best, probably one of the best names on Floyds resume, but he was out of his element and kinda soft looking. Also more so a counter puncher which doesn't do so well against Floyd whos defensive first.

Marquez was and is...but I suppose you don't count him. Not enough defense eh? Or was it the weight?

This is the problem.. Most think a good "pure boxer" should have a sound defense but by that definition Cotto fails the definition. I would have to agree and say Judah had the best pure boxing skills of the bunch.. While they lasted. Angel Manfreddy honorable mention, that stoppage was too early against Floyd. Oscar had a jab but horrible tactics.. Trying to win on points with that shoe shining to the body. But I guess he's 3rd.

So, Judah, JMM, Oscar, Cotto... Hon mention Manfreddy. Cotto is 4th
