They weren't children, but last week during FNF there were a couple of ladies that were obviously friends/family of Katsidis sitting ringside. Watching their reactions during the course of the fight as Katsidis took more and more punishment was pretty brutal.

I don't think kids would mind it that much if it wasn't for their mothers whining and crying throughout the fight. Imo it's that which really upsets the kids.

Best to leave all family at home.

Lol no, when you're a kid your Dad is like Superman. Seeing him ruthlessly beaten in the ring wouldn't be a pretty sight.

What do you think would be harder to watch for a kid : a Williams/Martinez, Pac/Hatton type KO or a 12 round beating ala Vitali/Briggs?

A 12 round beating, when someone gets knocked out you can always lie to yourself and say ''He got caught with a lucky punch'' ''Things could have been different''. When someone gets a brutal beating over 12 rounds no excuses can be made and to an extent you see the fighter beaten into submission.

Depends how old the kids are. Most, especially young girls, wouldn't have a clue what's going on beyond seeing two gloved men punching one another. However what they will remember is the reaction of their mother which is often hysterical and distressing for the kids.

We're in agreement however that family belong nowhere near a fight.

Gender doesn't matter and children are not ******. 4 up they would have enough sense to realise it is there Daddy getting whooped silly in the ring.

I'd say a KO. After a 12 rounder at least their dad would be there at the end of the fight to tell them he's ok. Watching him being knocked out unconscious and taken to hospital would be pretty scary for any adult relative let alone a kid.
