For any one in this thread saying size matters so much. Tell me who would you favor come fight night, 150lbs Floyd Mayweather Jr vs 180lbs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, and why. Please be honest.

Size matters only after it's an exaggerated amount. Like you're not gonna seriously talk about Vitali Klitschko vs Floyd Mayweather Jr, that's way too much.


At the end of the day, styles make fights. That's why a light Pacquiao shut out a 170 pound Joshua Clottey, and that's why a 165pound Ortiz and Baldomir didn't stand a chance against 149-150 pound Mayweather. Some fighters are just so much better than you, and are stylistically superior than you, that you will need way more than a 30lbs advantage on them to beat them.

When you are talking about a 180lbs Andre Ward, you don't bring up his size as the first problem, the problem is that the guy is too skilled for that size and that's why Mayweather would lose. I'll bet the house on Mayweather decisioning 180lbs Kelly Pavlik while he only weighs 150lbs.
