Wait a sec, isn't this the young dude that just pulled out of a Magdaleno ShoBox fight at the last second a few weeks ago on injury?...how does he miraculously recover from something severe enough to pull out of a fight?

At least Im not the only one who thinks his only real challenge was PDL and still a very limited featherweight managed to give him problems.

Another decent opposition taking shots at Broner. Are they gonna take it or keep looking to see what other stiffs are out there?

Still, the only ones I think would beat Broner are Magdaleno and/or Uchiyama.

Do you think Ponce De Leon would beat Broner in a rematch???

I don't..he'll most likely get stretched..

Beltran is not the potential attraction, Broner is...

Beltran is a decent choice for May 19th, especially considering he's fighting Escobedo in the summer and he's fighting again in the fall. It's far better than Meza Clay and Sykes.

will it happen tho, is the question? there must have been some reason his name was bought up. but goldenboy does a lot of weird things when it comes to releasing names of possible oppoenets. i really hope it isnt clay or sykes tho.

Well it depends on what we believe. When it was reported that Monty Meza Clay, a s**t fight, was possible, Golden Boy said that wasn't final because they were looking for a better opponent. Than it was reported that Gary Sykes may get the fight, which is even wrose than Meza Clay if you ask me. So one can only hope that with Beltran getting his license to fight in Nevada, that Golden Boy will get him to fight Broner???? I hope so at least.

Miguel Beltran Jr is a solid defense. He got a title shot against Salgado last year, but it ended after 2 rounds in a NC. He was suppose to fight Diego Magdaleno, but something happened so that fight was off. I'd have no problem with Broner fighting Beltran Jr, but it all depends on if GBP makes it or not, because there's no reasons not to. It's a good stay busy fight against a good/solid opponent, and then if he fought Escobedo in the summer, that'd make 3 solid defenses for Broner in less than a year.

I still want Broner to fight Salgado, Mendez, and a Ponce rematch before leaving 130 though. The Uchiyama fight is a pipe dream. Uchiyama never leaves Japan, they don't even recognize the WBO so why would he??? And Broner isn't going to fight Uchiyama in Japan, that'd just be ****** of him to do that when he's in the power position.
