Ah, so alphabet titles are only relevant depending on what agenda there is

First, this forum detests the titles because they're meaningless

But demands fighters to fight for said meaningless titles.

Why isn't it good enough to ask who they were defended against?

But I'm not expecting an objective answer so I'll leave it at that

I always thought of it as his speed neutralizer

He's slower than many of his foes at the top level, so this allows him to offset their speed advantage until they're slowed down for him to get to him. Plus he has shorter reach than most, especially in and around his weight class

          It works well for him

it puts more weight behind it meaning more power. also increases his reach.

From my own personal experience... I'd say its becuz he's both short and an inside-fighter by nature...

I'm same situation, I'm short, and I'm more of an infighter, so my jab has a lot more behind it than someone like De La Hoya... It just doesn't always feel right throwing a punch without bad intentions... Especially a single shot (combinations may be thrown a bit weaker)
