That's true, forgot about Canelo fighting Vazquez, though it was at WW.

Canelo needs to fight a Top SWW in September.

i just find it absurd that ppl **** on broners comp, sure its not the best and its not where floyd/pac/dlh etc were at this point in their careers. with that said. his resume is easily on par with or better than any young talent u can name.

better than mikey garcias, better than kell brooks, better than mike jones

on par with canelo's, not to far behind chavez jrs/kirkland etc. and most of these guys are older than he is.

Canelo gets bashed for fighting ****ty opposition so it's time Broner starts getting the same treatment.

Canelo had no amateur background. Broner had over 300 amateur fights I believe, so what's the excuse for not stepping up in competition?

canelo may not have had an amateur backgroud, but hes had about 40 pro fights at the age of 21, he the more experienced of the two professionally.

How many in the US? It's ok to backup your fighter bro. There's no excuse for such ****ty opposition as this one for Broner.

This is a stay busy tune up type fight. Which is fine. Because, they're talking about Broner fighting 4 times this year. So him fighting Sykes is fine in that regard.

However, having the fight on HBO makes garbage ass fight. I don't care who he has beat, I don't care if it is a stay busy fight, I don't care how good his resume is for such a young fighter. HBO wasting their budget on this garbage is bullshit.

This does not belong on HBO. It just doesn't. If it was off TV, then it would be no problem, if it would be one of those Golden Boy live cards, where you can catch by stream. That's would be OK. Making this on HBO is whack. At least put it on PPV where it doesn't affect HBO budget. Put it on the undercard of Floyd-Cotto, make it a 5 fight televised PPV event.

If you're going to televise him on HBO have a better opponent. Hell give him the PDL rematch. Bronter-PDL II as the opener of Khan-Peterson II is a good double header. Take PDL off of Floyd-Cotto, and we could see how much Broner has really developed. It should also be an easy fight but at least it has some drama and background story behind it.

              This is crap.

Broner still did fight Ponce De Leon, a very good fighter. Litzau, when he'd just gotten the W over Caballero. And Perez when he was a Top 10 SFW and Broner's mandatory. Those were all decent/good fights for him at that time.

Sykes is just a stay busy fight, but still it's like what the f**k????

doesnt matter how much in the us. its not as if he just started boxing is my point. he doesnt have the excuse u claim he has. ams are cool but they def dont prepare u for the pros, esp the american system. i know. i know many am boxers. the system is messed up

either way, i dont like this fight for broner at all really, even as a tune up and it def shouldnt be on hbo. but broner's resume isnt as bad as u claim it is. its decent. and its better than most as i stated in my other post.

Ponce was a good fight but it wasn't meant to be. It was meant for Broner to cruise thru a pretty limited 5'5" featherweight and add a name to his resume which almost backfired. Litzau sucks ass, he beat a ****ty Caballero. A sober Perez WOULD'VE been a good fight but it wasn't. Sorry, can't bring myself to give credit to Broner for these wins. Fight Escobedo or someone up there and I'll give him his dues.
