I'm not sure. Gamboa is smaller and shorter. Abril won because of his style but his height helped in my opinion. Rios didn't know what to do against a taller boxer. Gamboa would have fought a different fight thus a different outcome. I think that the fight would have been a toss up to be honest. Either guy could knock each other out.
