freitas is a slick boxer, not a big puncher/trader like cotto
frietas would stick and move his way to a ud and maybe then cotto would realize he cant slug his way up the ranks
Boy o boy some folks have some misconceptions about Mr. Freitas.
if "I" were Cotto, i would fight sum power-less bums, 2 in Puerto Rico and 2 in Madison Square Garden next year, some opponents who have less power than Corley (if thats possible).
Then in 2007 i would offer Mayweather a fight, but i would out price myself so that people who love me (PR ppl) would say Mayweather is ducking Cotto. I would go on air and tell everyone how listens that i want to fight Floyd and that Floyd is scared. This would really boost my name and put my name everywhere.
Then on March (as my name is everywhere)i would fight another bum who has a weak chin, slow, and no power in Madison Squere Garden with HBO prodcasting it. After the KO, i would finally speak English (he can , he just isnt comfortable enough to) and tell Larry "i want Floyd, tell Floyd to stop running"
The i would tell everyone who works with the media that i have offered Floyd a fight in Sept., but i would outprice myself again. So i would offer Ricky Hatton a fight, but i would say the fight must be in Puerto Rico and i would outprice myself again.
People would think everyone is ducking me. So I would fight one more bum to close out the 2007 year 2-0.
After Larry Mechant and other Boxing writters start critizing me and Bob Arum for not fighting and outpricing myself, i would start real negotiations for a big fight in 2008.
I would announce in Dec. that i will be fighting Arturo Gatti in Feb. 2008 in Atlantic City.
1st big test!
I would try to make the fight into a brawl (even tho Gatti is a better boxer now) but i would lure him into a brawl that at least will last till the 9 or 10 with either me or him ending up losing by a TKO or KO.
The fans would love the fight and think im such a warrior, candidate for fight of the year. So our promotor would sign us for a remath in July.
I would fight the PPV and my biggest paycheck ever.
Then i would end the fight in a 8 or 9 round TKO as Gatti's corner stops it. Gatti is way too old and retires immidiatly.
Then i wont fight for the rest of the year. And finally agree to fight Floyd in March of 2009 as the biggest fight of the year. (people still dont know im not that good, besides the power i have)
Then in the biggest PPV since Oscar-Tito, i fight Floyd at LasVegas and lose a one sided beatdown prison **** under 6 rounds.
I promise to come back! so i dont fight for the rest of the year, so people start missing me.
i come back in Jan. of 2010 (im old now) and i fight a horrible washed up opponent (something like Shrmba Mitchell today) someone who makes me unstopple like Tito looked in his comeback. i fight in Madison SQuere Garden and PPV.
I fight in May against a paper champ to regain a title somewhere but someone beatble. After i get that Title i would look for a big payday against someone who doesnt rip my chin off by one punch.
So i fight Ricky Hatton who is also old but still in the mix, Ricky doesnt have a lot of pop in his punches and he has slowed down a lot since the Kostya fight. So i make it brawl make sure it lasts to at leasr the 8 round and then either KO Hatton or get myself KO.
With Candidate for Fight of the Year i sign for a remathc and maybe a trilogy.
I say "im done im old" and have two farewell fights. One in Madison Sq. Garden and one in Puerto Rico both PPV's and then retire.
(this is what i would do i were Cotto. Get paid baby!! Whats the point of fighting sumone like Floyd or Hatton who could end my career right there. )
I think I remember not thinking very much of this Spiniks, I think i was right considering he disapered from the face of the planet.
hes a good boxer very quick and slick. but.....
he was under Don King and u know how that works. He tried to switch teams and got sued by King, then when everything got resolved he got stabed by wife.
