I don´t see why Chávez Jr. or any other belt holder should fulfill the challenger´s special demands. Martínez has the right to demand mandatory tests but other than those it is like anticipating excuses, I mean, it has been said that Jr´s style is the worst for Maravilla.

Look at MMA. A few months back Overeem was asked to take a test and suddenly left the country. He then said he didn't get the test request until he was already outside the US and there was a mix-up in communication. Looked incredibly su****ious but under the rules they had at the time he got away with it. So this time Nevada used stronger testing and they caught him.
Better testing usually comes about because something or someone looks su****ious. Of course you are more likely to want a steroids test against someone as su****ious as Chavez if you can get it.
Someone has to be the first opponent that you test. Peterson never requested it before the Khan rematch, yet Khan accepted instantly. Berto didn't request it before the Ortiz rematch. Who cares? If he had tested Macklin but not Barker would you be complaining about that as well? Does a fighter have to test everyone from their pro debut onwards to get your approval?
What I find really ****** is that when Floyd/his father came out and accused Pacquiao of using, everyone said it was wrong to accuse like that. Fair enough. But when Martinez simply asks for better testing without accusing someone, people are critical of that as well.
Are you seriously saying Martinez can't request a test against a guy who looks very guilty unless he requests one against every single opponent? Of course you're more likely to want testing if you believe you are facing a drugs cheat in the biggest fight of your career. Same reason Floyd wanted it. Probably the same reason Peterson and Berto wanted it but it doesn't matter because Ortiz and Khan stepped up rather than complaining. I guess some boxers have less to hide than others.
I would prefer it if every fighter took full testing for every fight. But if that doesn't happen then at least I'd like to see them have strong testing for their biggest fights.
+1. A common sense post. Don't see these everyday

They test for it in baseball which you rarely see a fight..... But somehow you think it should be legalized and in boxing no less???????
Seriously if you cant do it naturally , why in the hell try and compete anyway?
Do we now all of a sudden let records of legends be broken based upon someone using enhancement drugs?????
And you wouldnt have to spend billions on better testing, are you serious?? Billions arent even spent on the war on drugs bro.....
I am pretty sure that if boxing as a whole started doing the testing then by default that would drive down the price.... Because its guaranteed business. Just like with anything else. If every Athletic Commission required better testing, then I am pretty sure just based off the understanding that every fight would need it would drive down prices, but since only a few boxers have asked for it, its a premium still. You do realize that at one time piss testing was expensive as well......
But since it's mandatory for pretty much every sport and has been for some time, your local job market is able to afford piss tests to employ minimum wage workers !!!!

Im sorry but the Boxing commision needs to open their eyes and really look into this. Top Rank fights have been giving us BS results with fights. I feel Top Rank fights are all fixed .and Now Another Top Rank fighter is basically getting accused of taking PEDS and his trainer happens to be Freddie Roach .Oh and just happens Texas forgets to drug test Chavez .Bob Arum most likely paid them off so they wouldnt test him. !!
Top Rank and Bob Arum are giving Boxing a bad name.

Jr got one good win on his entire resume (Rubio) at age 25
Jr already achieved half of Martinez but is 14 years younger. Jr is a 6'1 freak of nature that will clean out the 160 168 and perhaps light heavyweight. Sergio should be ****ing lucky Jr is giving him this fight to provide for Sergio and his husband.
